Jacynta6- hi welcome a small hint on which cruise company could be useful although I’m pretty sure most are similar although I’m pretty sure none of the river cruise companies expect OTT, I mix and match so changing complete outfits but using the same items. Depending on your grandchildren’s age I will warn you the wooden toys are super but add far to much to the luggage weight. Enjoy your cruise.

We find River Cruising to be more casual than Ocean.  Also it depends on the river and line you are cruising.

 

Who are you cruising with?

 

Certainly most River Cruise lines are casual in the dining room.  Take casual how you will but that generally means no flip flops in the dining room.  We have seen everything from jeans to people in dressy evening attire.
