As The Icon of the Seas has been launched with the assistance of Lionel Messi and his Inter Miami team mates, and the Royals may be busy perhaps they could consider a British footballer? Maybe Steven Gerrard , as he use to play for Liverpool?

So why Steven Gerrard especially has he doesn't live in UK at the moment and what has the connection of Liverpool to do with QA. I am sure Cunard could do far better than any overrated and overpaid footballer.

Well, QUEEN ANNE is built in Italy, registered in Bermuda, owned by an American conglomorate, has a Danish captain and probably will have fewer than 100 British subjects in her crew. So there's that....

Maybe it's time to put the artifice of "Ships of State" afforded royal christenings to bed in an era of international mishmash.

That is concerning. The cancellation came with only 2 weeks notice according to reports I have read. 😩

Sun princess has done some sea trials according 2 AIS. She's now alongside at Monaflacone Trieste. Given that she has done some sea trials the problem is probably tech / engineering.

There is a post on social media stating that QA sea trials start this coming Friday - 2nd February.

that has been said for some time. she has been live on AIS  constantly for some time indicating that systems etc are being tested. There will then be snagging list to rectify before acceptance. Note that on AIS  she is shown as Italian flagged.

Last week the flag was a different one. Don’t know my flags, so no idea what.

It's also interesting to note that her destination indicated by AIS is Palermo. There is a Fincantieri facility in Palermo, so perhaps that's her next stop after her sea trials. Just speculating.

Also says she is arriving on Jan 11, bizarrely.

Marinetraffic is reporting her average speed as 10 kn and maximum speed as 10.1 kn which is rather bizarre as well.

Systems being tested would include dummy destinations and speed she also had trieste as destination.
