A couple of days after we booked a February, 2026 RT Cape Town Muse Cruise--that entire period now shows totally Waitlist. Does anyone know why? Change of itinerary? Drydock? Charters? That would be a very long time for the last two. No word from Silversea to us on this.

We are booked on her 2 January cruises. November and December 25 have been grayed out for some time and i presumed for a dry dock but her last cruise before that is through the Suez canal which is also wait listed. It ends in Abu Dhabi which I presume is not where a dry dock would take place.

So now I am wondering whether November,December 25 are charters and maybe considering moving those to January, February 26. Though the Muse voyage through the canal is now back on sale for May 25. We were initially on the Muse doing back to back Singapore to Athens but they changed it leaving a 6 day gap in Doha. wouldn't put us up in doha so we cancelled the Doha to athens leg. 6 days is probably a charter.

Another possibility is that they are considering keeping her in the Mediterranean but hopefully have another ship cruising Africa. The only one close at that time will be the Moon but she is doing Australia, New Zealand cruises and so unlikely to be repositioned.

Something funny is happening again.

All of these cruises have now disappeared from the Silversea website except the last one, which is still totally Waitlist.

Back up again--how weird.

I am guessing Silversea is changing the ship to different itineraries. This happened with the Wind a few weeks ago. All the Arctic itineraries in summer 2025 were replaced with new ones to Iceland, Scotland and Norway, but other cruises on the ship could not be booked for a short time.

But the Wind was changed because it would not meet the new Norwegian guidelines for cruise ships.

No such problem for the Muse. we will have to wait and find out.

In the past, we've gotten similar surveys for some of the cruises that we booked more than a year out (which we don't often do). As I recall, on a few cruises - definitely  less than half - there were some  itinerary changes after the survey. It was nothing too major - substitution of a port with another or an added sea day.  However, none of these cruises was waitlisted before we received the survey.

Just got this from Silversea with the details of the revised itinerary, which explains the "Waitlist" status. For you knowledgeable folks out there, Is the revised itinerary an improvement or a negative change? Durban appears to have an excellent nearby game preserve (Tala) that we would now be missing.

Dear Esteemed Guest,

We hope this letter finds you well. Today, we are writing with important news regarding your 5 February 2026 voyage aboard Silver Muse.

Due to unforeseen logistical and operational changes, we have had to readjust our sailing schedule for Silver Muse in 2026. As such, your voyage will now sail 13 nights from Cape Town, departing on 5 February and arriving back in Cape Town on 18 February in lieu of 19 February. In making the necessary modifications to your itinerary, you will enjoy extended overnight discovery in both Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and Walvis Bay, Namibia, and a visit to Luderitz, Namibia, in lieu of calls in Durban, Maputo, and Richards Bay.

We apologize for these changes to your expected travel plans and are grateful for your understanding. If you choose to remain on your currently booked voyage, you will receive a 10% saving off the full cruise fare.

All shore excursion reservations affected by these modifications will be automatically cancelled. Please visit your MySilversea in the coming weeks to explore and reserve shore excursions in the new ports of call. For your ease of reference, both the original and revised itineraries are shared below:

We have also received the changes. We were to board the Muse in Mahe on 7th january 2026. Now boarding on 6th January.

We are doing back to back with the second segment on 23/1 being a Capetown to Capetown cruise with the same original itinerary as your Feb 5th cruise was. Now identical to your changed itinerary.

however we have already done a West Africa cruise on the Explorer and were looking forward to the East Africa ports. The explanation of unforeseen logistical and operational changes when these cruises are 2 years away just doesn't sound right. Our first segment does call in at Durban so that is not the problem.

Another reason not to book flights and hotels through Silversea whenever possible.
