Cinders411 Posted February 7 #1 Share Posted February 7 DH and I are sailing for the first time on MSC. We will be staying in a YC cabin on the Seashore. Can anyone tell me where the Muster Station is? Just trying to figure out how many flights of stairs we will have to climb. Thank you for any assistance and/or any other tips you can provide. TrinaLC Posted February 7 #2 Share Posted February 7 Same as everyone else - I think 7? there are no exceptions for YC. If stairs are an issue, take the elevator down about 15 minutes before, and then prepare to hang out until elevator service restored. There is an option (not publicized) for one person to go and get two id’s swiped in, just explain the “other” can’t do stairs.
capriccio Posted February 7 #3 Share Posted February 7 On the Seascape in December our muster station (we were in the YC on deck 16) was the casino. Be prepared for total chaos once you get to that deck with some people heading to the casino and others to the theater. I had no problem - once I fought my way through the arriving throng - to get an elevator back to the YC.
CarolnLarry Posted February 10 #4 Share Posted February 10 I don't do stairs and have used the elevators in my 10+MSC cruises for the muster drill. There will be guides outside the YC area just tell them you don't do stairs. No problem.
capriccio Posted February 10 #5 Share Posted February 10 On our December cruise the YC concierge said that using an elevator was not an option. If my DH couldn’t use the stairs (he was using a cane following 2 major back surgeries 2 months earlier) I was to take his cruise card with me, use the stairs, and have the staff scan both cards. That is exactly what happened. I don’t know what they would have recommended if I couldn’t navigate the stairs too. Another poster suggested that we both should have waited until the make up session the next morning.
Keys Kathy Posted February 13 #6 Share Posted February 13 We just got off Seascape. While the Butler was taking us to Yacht Club she stopped by deck 7 so they could swipe our cards. We still had to watch the video and call into 811. We got on a little after 12:00.

If this has changed great to hear. If MSC fleet wide is using this procedure it is a great improvement. It makes perfect sense to do it this way. I know NCL asks you to visit your muster station as you board. It will require scarce crew on turnaround day to man those muster stations to scan, but it’s a small price to pay to alleviate the mass movement after the on-tv safety briefing. does anyone know if this a general change or just a courtesy for Yacht Club? Neither I suspect, there was no change in the process when we boarded Divina a few days ago in YC.
