Best Time for Tamarind Window Table - Alaska Cruise

Party of 3, departing Vancouver for R/T Inside Passage voyage this summer.  Departure time from Vancouver is 4:00 pm.  We'd like to eat at Tamarind that first evening and get a window table for the views.  Reservation times are all open as of now.  How many window tables are there and do they seat parties there first?  We are normally late eaters, but is it recommended to book an early reservation time to better our chances of being seated at a window table?

Window seats are popular and may be assigned to suite pax first. If you want one, you should book for when they open. Yes, as people arrive, the window seats are frequently filled up first.

I am guessing this is on Koningsdam?

Go up to the Tamarind when you board: there will be someone around after about 2 pm. Take a look at the tables and ask for what you would like. They really do aim to please. If you are very loose about the time, you should have no problem getting a table to your liking. If this is the Koningsdam, we do not like having a table overlooking the pool.

Are you on a Pinnacle or a Signature class ship? Tamarind layout is very different on the two classes.  On Pinnacle class the aft facing tables are quite large, but on our last Rotterdam cruise we got a HUGE table set just for two of us, facing the pool, because we booked at 5 PM!
