MSC free cruise offer

I have a free cruise offer from MSC. NO port fees and no taxes. I’m not too excited to book it as I’m prime/diamond on Royal. Anyone have experience with this and shed some light on whether it’s worth it to pick up? I have sailed MSC. My “problem” is I like all my perks at my other cruise line. Thank you!

MSC will match your status, although the perks may not be exactly the same.

Just curious as to where the free offer was from. Was it directly from MSC?

If it is one you got from a casino, read the fine print as a deposit is required but it will be returned in the form of non-refundable OBC.  I picked one up from a casino near me because I couldn't believe it said no port taxes or fees.

OP said they sailed MSC before so they aren’t eligible to status match.

I believe they would be if they had never joined the Voyagers Club or had not previously asked for a status match.

Funny I just found this post as I got a free cruise for MSC today, so I'm doing my research.  I was also surprised to see no taxes and no port fees.  Anyone know if they serve free drinks in the casino?

If you are already "not too excited" to sail with MSC why book it ? I'd stick with Royal since they offer all the perks you like...

Hopefully OP will reply as to how and where they got the free offer and not leave us hanging

I'll let the OP come back and speak for themselves, but they did mention "pick up" in their post, so I'm assuming they are getting it from a casino.  Speaking for myself, I got mine from a casino yesterday

If it is free the casino, normally they will give you free drinks in the casino but not always depending on the offer.  It use to be with any casino offer but I have noticed that has changed slightly with the new casino offers.  You can ask the casino host the first day and they will let you know.

I've always wondered how big a spender you must be to get these offers, no matter the cruise line. It would certainly be fun to gamble away the money with a "free" cabin than just spend the money up front to book the cabin!

Someone replied to my post asking this saying that they'd had got a free cruise after betting $30k (not losing, betting in total).

There is no magic amount or anything.  I've received casino offers from places I've only visited once with a $1000 or less bankroll.  The MSC cruise I got yesterday was a perk of signing up as a new member.  It was my first time there, and I didn't even gamble any.

I would think free out perks all the other perks.  But maybe that's just me.

Thank you for all the responses. I got the MSC certificate from Ballys casino in Dover de. I know everyone assumes I have this huge bank roll because I’m getting free cruises. While others can attest, I bring less than $200 each time I gamble. I frequent Ballys once every 3 months as I live in Florida and my kids live in Delaware. I received a post card and just had to “swipe” my card on a specific day. It further said that I would receive a letter in the mail. We did receive an interior room.

I 100% agree with what someone else said. Why go when you’re happy with Royal. I don’t want too for those reasons! My husband contends that we don’t have to pay the port fees so why don’t we? My response is I would rather spend the port fees and get points towards diamond status. I’m trying to be an understanding spouse and comply with his request.

I don’t think I have done a status match before as I don’t remember going to the casino. My husband and daughter (who thinks she is going) all want to go simply for the thermal spa. That is one that they have spoken about many times over our 30 cruises.

I did apply for a status match. I will advise once I receive some information.

I was going to ask you where you signed up as a new member and got a free cruise offer. I figured I might drive down to Maryland and sign up. lol. I saw in another post that you said Ocean Casino in AC. That is where we get our free cruise offers; however, we have had to earn them!! Lucky you.

If you don't want to go then I would be glad to take your place if it isn't in your name specifically. Kidding but not kidding lol
