Best beach for one’s pocket can be found from the selection on Resort Pass (Day Pass) https://www.resortpass.com/hotel-day-passes/San-Juan-903

To the contrary, IMO Isla Verde is probably the best overall stretch of beach in metropolitan San Juan. Certainly much better than Condado, where the beach is mostly very narrow and there can be significant undertow. Of the hotels offering day passes available through the vendor cited above by @PORT ROYAL I've stayed at the Royal Sonesta (under a different hotel brand name), the Fairmont El San Juan, and the Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde Beach Resort and they are all on excellent stretches of beach. The Royal Sonesta and El San Juan are located adjacent to each other and the Courtyard is about a half mile further and across the street from the airport. Clubber Posted February 21 #4 Share Posted February 21 (edited) I spent a day at the Vevo Beach Club last week by the airport. We had the place to ourselves most of the day. Decent food plus the Ocean Lab Brewery is there for great craft beer. It's $80 for the day entrance during the weekday. Probably have to be a member to get in on the weekend. Beach was nice but pretty narrow. You can walk a long ways on the beach there. Edited February 21 by Clubber

Our cruise on Princess is offering an excursion there in November for $55pp. for 4 1/2 hrs. Are there free lounges and/or umbrellas on the beach? Clubber Posted March 6 #6 Share Posted March 6 I only remember a few chairs on the beach. Everyone that day was sitting poolside with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. there was no charge for that since you paid to get in.
JasmineB Posted May 9 #7 Share Posted May 9 @Clubber are those pics the Vevo beach excursion? The ship tour includes admission to the resort? Looks stunning.

Are all the properties you mentioned above easily reaching to and from the cruise ship by taxi? How long of a ride?

There's no "resort"...it's a beach club, not a hotel.

Easy by taxi or Uber. Probably 20 minutes or so...it can be longer in traffic.

The beach loungers are jammed in there so tight - it's ridiculous. Doing a ship excursion to that place is a rip off. Better just take a taxi to Candado

Looks stunning. Yes they are. About 25 minute drive from cruiseport. The day we went there were only about 10 of us in the whole place. Clubber Posted June 27 #14 Share Posted June 27 It's really just an entrance fee. They did provide a towel. It's pricey, but it was super nice for the day for us.
