Silversea excursion times and transport from airport to cruise

Hi.  My DH and I are booked on the June 29 Norwegian Fjord Cruise on the Silver Dawn round trip from Copenhagen and had a couple of questions:

1.  Right now, nearly all the excursions through Silversea (both included and select) begin at the same time the ship docks that morning.  Is this correct?  Could it just be a placeholder until the actual time is set?  Curious to know so we can plan other activities in addition to our SS activities.  Appreciate information from anyone who has gone through the process before.

2. We are doing door to door.  Our flight lands in CPH at 7:15 am and a transfer is included to the cruise ship, which does not board until 2pm.  Does SS provide any accommodations (e.g., lounge, luggage storage, etc) during those seven hours?  Does the transport pick you up at 715 and just bring you to the ship even though it isn’t ready?  We’re happy to plan our own activities but need to better understand the timing and logistics (including w/r/t luggage) and the included transfer.  Another uncertainty is whether SS has included an excursion between landing and boarding.  While there is not one on my SS invoice, when i go to my silversea on line, it lists a free excursion in Copenhagen after landing.  My TA is not sure what that is but is looking into it.  Again, any insight on the timing and logistics (and this possible excursion) would be greatly appreciated so we can plan the 7 hours between the time we land and the time we board.

Thanks

I'm on the sailing before yours, and have the same issue. A number of the excursion times have been adjusted, but most of them are sitting at the time the ship docks. I'm hoping that more of them will be adjusted over time, but I have no personal experience.

I can only speak to my one Silversea experience, on Whisper in NZ/Oz a few weeks ago.  All the excursions started out at the same early time, and most were adjusted later as the cruise approached [and many were adjusted again onboard – the tickets in our cabin had different times than the confirmation immediately before sailing].  So I would say these 8:30 times you are seeing are indeed placeholders.

Thanks for the information.  We suspected some times may adjust as the departure date approaches.

Any insights on what our arrival day will look like since we land at 7am and the cruise doesn’t board until 2pm.

Yes we knew in advance as it was part of the door to door package and included as part of the airport to ship transfer.

Thanks, 57.  This is what our itinerary looks like on My Silversea on the day we arrive.  Is this what yours looked like?  My SS TA doesn’t seem to have a clue.

Our visit was about 8 years ago and I do not believe My Silversea existed.

I assume you will be met at the airport and looked after until the time for embarkation.  You will not have to sit on a bus for several hours. Maybe Silversea will be able to give the TA more information nearer the time.

That not your itinerary, but rather your invoice.  It shows that shore excursions are included, and transfer from airport to the pier is included.

Thanks so much for the explanation.  So this just means that shore excursions are included in the cruise?   Strange my SS TA had no idea.

I’m confused?  You mentioned included shore excursions in your first post.  Or do you mean that the SS consultant didn’t realise that the page you showed was confirmation of your inclusions?  Pretty poor if so.

Any way, you will be collected from the airport and looked after.  Hopefully there will be hotel use for a few hours.  Not a private day room of your own, but a lounge area with coffee and cakes, etc, (usually a conference room) and use of the hotel’s facilities.

Silversea has recently adjusted the times for almost all of the excursions on my sailing (June 15) except the last 2 ports. They may be going in date order. I now do have a mix of morning and afternoon excursions, and, at the moment, only those of the last 2 ports haven't been adjusted, are are still showing at the arrival time in port.

Thanks for the update.  I’ll keep an eye out in the next couple of weeks.

It looks like all of the times have now been adjusted for my sailing. It is definitely worth checking yours.
