Rare colesc15 Posted February 28 #1 Share Posted February 28 Considering our options for our next casino cruise. Options are one of the forward facing oceanview rooms or a more traditional oceanview.. Oasis of the seas. Which one would be better? The main downside of the forward facing rooms l feel like is the long walk but the room may be slightly larger?

Also, curtains have to remain closed at night, when stateroom lights are on.

Also less foot traffic going by our cabin. The best reason (excuse) is how we justify having the extra nightly desserts. 🤣 Edited February 28 by doghog
TxShipShape Posted February 28 #4 Share Posted February 28 was on the alure last year in 8100. Large space in front of window and it was floor to ceiling. because of the slant it wasn't an area where you could sit but if you wanted to store luggage there it was ok. Sometimes it got a little hot with the curtains open. It was a longer walk to get anywhere but not too bad.

I've bumped my forehead more than once. Slow learner. 😁
time4u2go Posted February 28 #6 Share Posted February 28 In general, rooms at the front or back of the ship are more prone to motion than those toward the center, in case anybody has any issues with the ship's motion.
Rare FionaMG Posted February 28 #7 Share Posted February 28 I like the layout of these forward-facing rooms. It makes them feel more spacious than the "normal" ones. If there any on a higher floor available you'll get a better view. They are considered obstructed because they overlook the helipad. The higher you go the less obtrusive that becomes. Rare Oceansaway17 Posted February 28 #8 Share Posted February 28 pick the one not in the row in the front unless you want to hear loud crew parties from the bow. TRUST ME I had this issue on Oasis, Allure and Anthem.
shipgeeks Posted February 28 #9 Share Posted February 28 We loved ours, walking distances notwithstanding. I agree about not being able to use the area under the slant, and I had to put postits on the window to keep from bumping my head all the time. But we loved the views. Re keeping the curtains securely closed all night, I heard that is required even after we turn the lights off, as there is still interference from the door peephole, little light on the tv, etc.
