Tim Cruise Posted March 20 #1 Share Posted March 20 When to I get my actual ticket? Things like luggage tags and everything I will need? Also is this something I should look for in my US mailbox or all done thru email?
cellfree Posted March 20 #2 Share Posted March 20 Do not wait for or expect anything by mail. You can check-in on-line 30 days prior to cruise. After you do that you should receive your e-ticket by email. If you do not call MSC and an Agent will email it to you. It will have a “bar code” necessary for checking in at Port as well as Luggage Tags for you to print out. 1) Process asks you to download pic, people have lots of trouble with that and it is not really necessary. You can have pic taken at Port. 2) It also asks you to enter “payment” info but that is done once you embark at a Kiosk on ship. 1
Rare JamieLogical Posted March 21 #3 Share Posted March 21 I believe it's actually 20 days prior, not 30.

Seriously, we tried over and over on the website logged into our account, on the website logged into our reservation number, on the APP, nothing. Called MSC and the agent emailed me the eDoc with everything (including 4 luggage tags - - 😉 - - odd, we know how to print a page using 4 copies) while on the phone to confirm we got it. As an aside, although the MSC agent was great, it sounded like she was functioning in a junior high school cafeteria in the background. There were times we could barely hear her, and it was 'not' all phone call chatter in the background either.

Até Posted April 18 #8 Share Posted April 18 MSC now states web check-in officially begins 30 days before sailing, but in actuality you can usually get most of it completed way before that. Boarding documents are something different and usually become available 20 days before sailing. Of course there are often variations to this timeline. Not sure how many total we will get too, but it sure is fun!
Two Wheels Only Posted May 20 #13 Share Posted May 20 With MSC, nothing is truly consistent. When I had 2 cruises that were less than 3 months apart, I was able to get everything done and downloaded for both on the same day. I didn't print the tags for the later cruise to avoid confusion. cue881 Posted May 20 #14 Share Posted May 20 (edited) No one is gloating over you being wrong. I am simply saying that the cruise I just booked has a 30 day window to complete your on line check in. Newer people may be looking up this thread and we owe it to them to provide the latest up to date info. These threads are here to help people, not to pick on anyone. Try to keep the info 100% accurate. Its for everyone's benefit. Edited May 20 by cue881

Nothing has changed since all of the previous posters pointed out that it was 30 days. It's still 30 days. There is no news.
SailorfromBrazil Posted May 21 #16 Share Posted May 21 BTW if you've booked through a TA, they should sent you your Ticket, you can't get them from the app or site.
