Pretty much cash only but there are a couple of minibus shuttle operators (Titan) that take credit cards.

They are privately owned minibuses that run back and forth between the Dockyard and Horseshoe Bay. Ride share, they leave as soon as they fill up. 12 to 30 passengers. They are located in the staging area between the two ship berths. There is signage. $7 per person per ride.

Beaches with amenities that are calm are Tobacco Bay, Clearwater is relatively calm. Beaches without facilities that are calm are Jobsons Cove. Shelly Bay. Maybe lesser waves if you catch it at low tide, but listen to Charles.

It's the iconic, most well known Bermuda beach. It's beautiful and my daughter and I really liked the rock formations and the little cave/inlet on the right side. However, I wouldn't say the waters are calm, especially if you venture further out. Someone drowned last Wednesday 3/27, so if you're looking for calm, I would avoid. The drivers are constantly hawking at you to get passengers. We are a family of four and we took a taxi to Warwick Long Bay (just a little further than Horseshoe) and then walked the path to Horseshoe. Really enjoyable. If you have four people in your party, I would recommend taking a taxi from Dockyards to Warwick or Horseshoe. It costs just a little more, but you get your own ride, and best of all, our taxi driver was constantly narrating and pointing out places of interests and giving us facts about the island and answering our questions. It was informative and well worth it.

They fill every seat.

Wondering if it would be cost effective to just get private transport.

Taxis can take up to 7 so if you have 6 people it will be approximately $49 overall (5-7 passenger rate) plus tip. I have accounted for a 15% rate increase that went into effect this month (April 2024). There is an additional surcharge for Sundays and Holidays. LImom Posted April 5 #15 Share Posted April 5 @Charles4515 Since you are so knowledgeable about the cost of transportation in Bermuda, I was hoping you might know what the appoximate taxt fare is to the Port Royale golf club?

They just raised the fares 15% on April 1 so adding that I would estimate for 1-4 passengers overall on a weekday it would be $29 plus tip. Rare debenson0723 Posted May 20 #18 Share Posted May 20 Is it easy to get a minibus back to the port? We are only 2, maybe 3, so minibus would be the most economical (but not adverse to a taxi either). Will probably only spend an hour or two at most, just to say we did it. Thanks! SSAtlantic Posted May 20 #19 Share Posted May 20 I have a few questions 1. how long is the walk from Warwick to Horseshoe? 2. How much is a taxi from Horseshoe to Hamilton? We would take the ferry back after as brief shopping trip. Thank you

Extremely easy to get minibus back to the port. They are sitting there waiting for you. In fact, when leaving the beach area, the drivers will spot you and ask if you're going back to Kings Wharf cruise port. If so, and if interested in the $7/pp trip, they'll direct you to the next minibus set to depart...which may only be half full....and they you have to wait until it fills-up before they are ready to leave. It's, er, a cozy ride with everyone packed pretty tight with even the jump seat in use.
njhorseman Posted May 20 #21 Share Posted May 20 6 hours ago, SSAtlantic said: 1. how long is the walk from Warwick to Horseshoe? Roughly one mile...but it really depends on where your start from and where you end. You can't do the walk entirely on the beach as it's obstructed by rocky areas in places. There's a walking path in the park area behind the beaches. 6 hours ago, SSAtlantic said: 2. How much is a taxi from Horseshoe to Hamilton? We would take the ferry back after as brief shopping trip. About $26 or $27 plus tip for 1-4 passengers in a taxi. Note that you can't ride on taxis or buses wearing wet swimwear.

ladylyn915 Posted May 23 #24 Share Posted May 23 Where des the Shuttle and/or taxis left you off? And how far is the walk to the beach from drop off?
Charles4515 Posted May 23 #25 Share Posted May 23 3 hours ago, ladylyn915 said: Where des the Shuttle and/or taxis left you off? And how far is the walk to the beach from drop off? They drop off at the bottom of the hill from the South Road in the parking area a short walk to the beach just past the food concession, bathroom, changing room building. When you leave the shuttles and or taxis pick up there.
