Not a suite. We were Elite but were made so because we had Diamond level on RCCL. We had full access to Michael's Club that cruise as an Elite member. Our first Celebrity cruise was in 2008 and we became Zenith in 2016. During our first cruise smoking was allowed in the casinos and Michael’s Club eas the cigar lounge. Admission was not based on any loyalty level. After smoking was eleminated indoors MC becomes a piano bar venue. Remember Perry Grant on the Constrllation? Held court in the MC. MC becomes a venue with access to suites and Zeniths later, and in fact, in 2010 there was not a Zenith level. In 2010 every one had access to MC. Interesting how the venues change through the years. 1

Depends on the sailing and ship. Sushi on 5 has been open on the Solstice while in port unless the port stop is an overnight. Then open on the day we sail from the port. 12pm opening time. I was on a different cruise prior to my B4B Solstice sailing and the ship had 4 sit down service restaurants open every port day in addition to snack place and buffet. Very different on Celebrity where Luminae closes early for breakfast on a port day.
Rare abbydancer2003 Posted March 28 #53 Share Posted March 28 As others have said, there have been a couple of port days with early (2 pm ish) all aboard whwere Luminae has been open for lunch, in order, I think, to take some crowding out of the buffet. It may have been on Apex, where the Luminae kitchen is different than the main dining kitchen, so not dependent on them.
Rare cruisestitch Posted April 18 #54 Share Posted April 18 (edited) So today I have experienced for the first time that Luminae and the main dining room were open on port days with early departures. we are in Tortola BVI with all aboard at 2:00 and both are open for lunch so I now stand corrected having seen it with my own eyes. on Reflection Edited April 18 by cruisestitch 3

I'm guessing they were trying to take the load off of Oceanview because everyone would be up there trying to grab lunch.

And strangely enough, they have never updated the app on reflection to show that sky suite passengers are allowed into Michael’s.

Luminae was open for lunch on embarkation day and on sea days only. We were just on Summit for 9 days and Luminae was not open for lunch on port days. I was disappointed that Sushi on Five does not open for lunch on port days until 2:30 p.m. (I let X know via survey that I thought this was unsatisfactory for guests who stay on board or only go ashore in the mornings.)

Interesting. I would not be happy either. We are presently on the Millennium in Japan. Today was a port day and Sushi on 5 was open from noon to 2:30 pm. We were going to eat on shore but the weather was so chilly we returned to the ship around noon.

miched Posted April 19 #64 Share Posted April 19 They limit restaurants that are open on port days to give the crew a chance to get off of the ship. They do a rotating duty in those that are open. That is why they are still open on port days if it is a late arrival. They can’t get off the ship and all of the passengers are still on board. The buffet would be worse than embarkation day if the other places weren’t open. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

We've been repeatedly advised that when Luminae or another dining area closes on port days, they are relocated to serving elsewhere on the ship including and near the gangway handing out cold drinks and towels. I am wondering if the demand for Sushi on 5 between noon & 2:30 pm is far lower on Constellation & Summit (opening on port days at 2:30 p.m.) when sailing the Caribbean than on Millennium which is sailing in the Asian areas. George C, that was our experience (minus the outdoor retreat since we don't sit in the sun) on Connie and Summit.
1Virgo Posted April 20 Author #67 Share Posted April 20 Yes. The staff are often used in other areas or have meetings/training and can’t go ashore.
