Emerald deck 8 mini suites on Grand class ships

I have usually book directly, deck 8 (Emerald) mini suites on Grand class ships. With my last reservation on the Ruby mini suite cabins on deck 8 were not an option. Does any one know why?

Not sure exactly what you are asking.  If you were trying to book a mini suite on deck 8 and they are not available; they are either booked or in a TA room block that could be in place until about 30 days before the cruise date.  Impossible to know which.  When is your cruise?

It has to do with that category being a lead in category and are often only listed as guarantee.

It makes no sense as these are the best mini suites!

@Arizona Wildcat This is not the case as far as TA and holding them. They are just now difficult to book due to Princess change in making the lowest category in each category guarantee cabins.

June next year. I did a guarantee mini suite but I don’t want deck 9.

I agree. It is annoying as I love those on Deck 8 as well.

It is strange that Princess would do this. I always want a covered balcony. If I was considering a mini-suite on a Grand class ship and the Emerald deck ones aren't available, I don't think there are any others that are covered? So, I would then book a balcony instead. So, Princess would rather I book a balcony than a mini-suite?

Weird.

For April of 2025, we were able to book E731 on the Sapphire.  It's the most aft mini-suite with the huge balcony.  🤷‍♂️

Looking to book a mini-suite on Emerald, which right now are just guarantee. I’m just wondering what kind of noise one gets from Club Fusion if we get one on the deck just above. You all seem to like those cabins - can anyone comment. Thanks.

Less than you might think given that most late-night activity moves to Skywalkers.

My beef with these has been when they’ve allowed smoking on 7 aft and the smoke gets sucked in to the fan room feeding the cabins starting at 700.

Sailed in E730/E728 both last cabin on Emerald deck many times, and have another 40+ days booked in those cabins, and never have been bothered by noise. We like those cabins as the smoking area is on the starboard side and bothers E731.We had E730 on the Crown  for a 28day South Pacific and found out the cameras don't just look down the railings as we were called about towels on our balcony attached to our chairs.

It's all about who you know😀. We have 3 future cruises booked in E730 on the Emerald and E728 on the Grand.  We've sailed several cruises in those aft mini's. If we can't book one of the 2, we won't go. Who needs the sanctuary when you have that balcony and room service.

I think it is probably better on port intensive cruises where the band isn't playing very late. I could feel/hear the music more on E730 than E731 but again, it wasn't that bad.

I’ve been over Club fusion and the music was not loud thru the floor.

I have only felt it right by where the band is - so E730. The others, I have not felt it/heard it.

Thanks for the comments re noise on Emerald deck. I understand why everyone likes a covered balcony, but I prefer an open balcony as I like the light and haven’t had problems with privacy. What are the chances we get a mini on Dolphin deck? Or maybe on the GTY’s we can trade if I get Emerald mini and you guys get Dolphin? 😉
