PJB3 Posted April 23 #1 Share Posted April 23 Sorry, I've searched all over but can't seem to find answers to two simple questions. 1. I didn't sign up for HIA when booking, but I assume I can still sign up at a later point, but where?? I don't see anything on the HAL site where I manage my trip. (Lots of other packages) 2. My trip isn't until July 2025, so are there ever any discounts on the HIA package? Black Friday, etc?

Some fares it may not be available and it may take some time for it to show, but it is clearly there for me and even on “promo” non-casino cruise bookings it has shown up for us. While it is more than just a beverage package, that’s where they put it. I’ve not seen sales. $55 per day of purchased post booking.
julia Posted April 23 #3 Share Posted April 23 Yes, HIA can be added later... call your TA or HAL directly. You'll want to add it before you sail, as it's more $ once onboard.
crystalspin Posted April 23 #4 Share Posted April 23 US$55 pppd for all days that have a night, i.e. the stated length of your cruise.

CHOPPERTESTER Posted April 24 #6 Share Posted April 24 You'll have to do the math. If you have HAL cancellation insurance and add HIA they will increase your insurance contribution as well versus waiting until you get onboard to add HIA.
cccole Posted April 24 #7 Share Posted April 24 We were on a 21 day cruise in January, did not purchase HIA when booking, and there was a sale prior to the cruise. It was substantial enough that we decided that the HIA would be worth it. Cherie

Roughly (with $55 being the prevailing price).

Or the beverage package? What’s the onboard price for HIA?

I will go back to my records and let you know. I just happened to be looking at the HAL site for something about our cruise and it popped up. My TA thought it was a good deal. In a few posts that mentioned purchasing the HIA onboard, it looked to be $65/pp/pd (so $10 pd increase). Not 100% certain though.

poffles Posted September 20 #13 Share Posted September 20 I have a related question to this ... If the cruise booked is sailing much further out, would adding HIA later still qualify as an HIA Early Booking add on or is the Early Booking only an offer at time of booking? This is all assuming the offer still shows (later) as available if booked new.
Rare POA1 Posted September 20 #14 Share Posted September 20 Adding HIA now should give you the HIA+ version which would give you crew appreciation, premium Wi-Fi & the Elite Beverage Package. It's a much better deal than waiting until later. It's the same price either way. You can add it up until about 3 or 4 days before sailing. That's when pre purchased items get transmitted to the ship. It won't be the plus version then though.
