Emerald princess Sanctuary

Does the Emerald Princess have the sanctuary and if so how much is it for half a day?

Emerald does have The Sanctuary, and last year it was $20 per person per half day.

I’d do this for the Thermal Suite alone. What else does the $20 get you? Dedicated outdoor area? Or just a lounge with coffee/tea/ice water?

The Thermal Suite is not remotely a part of the Sanctuary. 2 entirely different spaces.

 

Thermal Suite is part of the Lotus Spa. Sauna, steam, heated tile loungers. That's it. Definitely tour it before purchasing. (Unless you're in a suite, where it's included).

 

Sanctuary is an upper deck space. Adult only. Quiet.  Dedicated lounger for your half or full day. Dedicated deck attendants.  

Afternoon Tea served during afternoon session. Small dedicated food menu (at extra charge) for Sanctuary only.  Fruit and cucumber flavored water by the glass (included).

It's essentially a quiet lounging space.

Definitely tour the Thermal Suite before buying it. It's kinda dark and such. Not my cup of tea on Grand/Gem class ships.  Too dark and somewhat cramped feeling for my preference...  It's also more than $20! YMMV.

 

The Enclave, however, on Royal class and newer ships, much more enjoyable, to me . Large hydro pool, better and more varies steam and sauna, aqua beds, various types of rain showers (a Siberian shower after the haman is delightfully refreshing), etc.

Don’t dismiss the Sanctuary without trying it once. It’s really wonderful. Best view on the ship. Staff really pampers( hot chocolate and blanked in cool weather). They will also bring you burgers, hot dogs, pizza if you prefer it to the spa menu ( really quite good). The afternoon tea served at 3:00 and included is stellar with mini sandwiches, scones, cream, etc. ) and no one can sit on your lounge or take it away from you. There are also fabulous cabanas with tv and refrigerator ( includes m and m candies) for an up charge. Although I know people have gotten those through the casino. It’s a real first class experience

Sorry to jump on this post, but does anyone know if you can book access to the Sanctuary for the duration of your cruise? If so, roughly how much is it? We’d be looking at a 7-9 night cruise but wouldn’t have the Sanctuary class of cabin as we’re never in our cabins when cruising and tend to go for an inside for that reason.

Are you speaking about the Sun Princess? This seems to be different than all of Princess' other ships, but I don't know all the details regarding the Sun.

If you are speaking about other Princess ships you go to the sanctuary as soon as you board. You can reserve a lounge for the entire cruise sea and port days for US$30/day. You can also reserve individual days for $20/half day & $40/full day.

Thank you! We don’t know which ship we’ll be on yet as we haven’t chosen our sailing, just trying to plan our budget and decide if this add on is something we want to do.

Keep in mind that you have to make your reservation on boarding day. If it's a warm weather cruise with other legs (i.e. B2B for some cruisers) or you aren't on the ship first thing...there may not be any spaces available by the time you get to the Sanctuary to make your reservation.
