john91498 Posted April 25 #1 Share Posted April 25 Targeted marketing?
mz-s Posted April 25 #2 Share Posted April 25 I doubt the PVP has the pull to have offers sent your way. Probably just their offers skew towards those that don't have any cruises booked, haven't cruised in a while, etc., to get them back onboard. You never know though. Carnival's offer roulette is a strange mistress. 2

As noted above, PVPs have no connection or pull with either the Carnival marketing nor the casino marketing departments. More likely the algorithm is simply generating more offers for you and you're equating it to PVP control. Kind of like banging on the slot machine. When one bangs and gets a jackpot, one is inclined to assume banging had something to do with it. 2

This is the first time my cruise manager comes up blank since I started cruising carnival.

jamscckmc Posted April 26 #10 Share Posted April 26 After months of only interior room offers, I got a balcony offer today too. Only 4 cruises listed and none that interested me. Guessing they are not filling those. One western, two eastern Nassau, GT and Amber cove and a LA to Japan! Wouldn’t want to take or pay for that flight home! hurricane0226 Posted April 26 #11 Share Posted April 26 We keep getting the same offers, did not tell a soul we will not be cruising anymore, but keep getting offers, guess we spend alot in the casino. lol

I do, but my wife doesn't and she's the one that usually gets the best offers. I still don't understand how the casino offers work. She spends maybe $100 or so each cruise and she gets the free rooms and nice perks. I sometimes spend thousands and I might get 1 free drink.

That's why I never tell people to gamble expecting comps on Carnival. Other than Drinks on Us at I think 1500 points, nothing else is guaranteed.

The casino marketing uses data bots to scoop out demographics.
Joebucks Posted April 27 #17 Share Posted April 27 Great, just what we need. Another misconception to discuss all over the internet, in perpetuity. "I messaged my PVP to tell them I'm not cruising. Why haven't I received a $100 balcony offer?! Is this discrimination?!" 1

We have booked five or six cruises using it, but lately the offers are only short cruises from MIA or LA, which doesn’t interest us at all. we got an offer for a TA from NOLA to Barcelona for $100,and an insane 30 day Australia to Alaska for $300. 😲. And we leave Saturday for a spa balcony on the Jubilee. I truly don’t understand it because DH gambles but. It big money at all and only a few hours a day. same goes for offers from Bally’s. About every other month we get an offer for a “free” cruise. Sometimes it’s just Carnival, last two were Carnival, Princess or Holland. Some of them up to 12 days. He plays about two hours a week at Ballys at $5 tables. Edited April 28 by MagnoliaBlossom

You get the offers from Ballys because you get the offers from Carnival. Life of Circle. Casinos are about possibilities. We play because there is a possibility we could win. Casinos give out offers because there is the possibility we will play. Guess who is right more?
MagnoliaBlossom Posted April 29 #21 Share Posted April 29 Well, thus far we have come out ahead on every cruise. I know people won’t believe it, but DH sets a Dalit limit for his ante and it’s very low, but he is very good at what he does and he always knows when to walk away. He doesn’t chase the cards but plays the odds and more often than not walk away with chips in his pocket. We’ve received the carnival casino offers for some time, but the bigger offers happened after Ballys bought out a casino in Shreveport where we gamble once a week. I’m positive they know which way the scales tilt on his account and yet they offer us more “free” stuff. 😉 I know we are probably ananomoly, but it works for us. pohlerbear Posted April 29 #22 Share Posted April 29 Slightly off topic but I always book all of our cruises. When I check for cruises, my husband (who has about then less sailing days then me) always has better offers. Booked a cruise last week and his offer was $200 cheaper and offered $500 OBC while mine had $50. Looking to book a girls cruise and checked prices under my friend's VIFP (she is new to cruising and still red) and she also had the $500 OBC. Its annoying to me to have to check everyone else's deals when booking.

We're the opposite, my wife gets better offers and I spend more in the casino 🤪
