AirBnb in FLL pre cruise?

Recommended Posts

Sailing out of FLL in November and will arrive the day before our cruise. Does anyone ever stay in an AirBnB and UBER to the port? Just thinking about a different option. TIA

Sry, I'll be no help.Always been too chicken to try airbnb, but really interested in the replys you receive.

We booked with VT, but the posts here lately, about canceled resv. have started my wheels turning on a back up plan.

We often stay in an AitBnb pre cruise but I personally wouldn’t bother for just one night.  Cleaning and other fees will make it more costly than a hotel. Also depends how many people you are talking about.  We like to do 3-4 nights of Florida lifestyle to get us in the cruise spirit.

Thousands of people have booked Hyatt Place over the years through Value Trips. Like I said in another post, This is only the 2nd time I have ever heard of cancellations because of over booking. We have used them more than I can count over the last 10 years. In both cases the hotel either notified or place people in another hotel.

Be extremely careful if booking an AirBnB in a condo building.  First, confirm that it is a decent neighborhood and then confirm that rentals are allowed in the building.  Many (most?) condos have rules and regulations agreed to by each owner at purchase that limits rentals.  In some cases no rentals are allowed.  In others a very common clause (the one we have in our building) is one rental a year for a minimum 3 month period.  You don't want to show up and either not be able to access the unit or, worse still, unpack and find out you can't stay.  Make sure you discuss this with your potential host.

Personally I agree with the comment that given all the add-on fees, it may not make much economic sense for just one night.

Uber and Lyft are no problem in Fort Lauderdale.

our first time booking with VT, but just in case I looked up some hotels around - and Embassy Suites seems to have rooms available. So, we'll just walk over. Crowne and Comfort suites also have availability at this time.
