Rare rafinmd Posted May 24 #4 Share Posted May 24 Looks like Veendam has completed the transfer of passengers to St. Herman for the Tracy Arm tour and is headed to the port but behind Quantum of the Seas. Roy

Happily@Sea Posted May 24 #6 Share Posted May 24 (edited) Quantum is definitely going to mess our viewing of Zaandam. She is about halfway between Tracy Arm and Grand Island. Edited May 24 by Happily@Sea
Happily@Sea Posted May 24 #7 Share Posted May 24 Zaandam not going to make it by 12:30 AST - probably soon after. Just passed Grand Island.

Rare rafinmd Posted May 25 #17 Share Posted May 25 I was a bit lethargic yesterday after my covid booster but did catch a couple of glimpses of Zaandam. Thanks Dave, Leanne, and fellow addicts. Roy
Ileneilene123 Posted May 26 #18 Share Posted May 26 How late was she for the 12:30 pm docking in Juneau? What time did she actually dock? Thx. We will be on this cruise in July and have a packed day of excursions in Juneau. We will be returning from the Tracy Arm excursion and then heading out to a Heli-Glacier Dog Sled excursion. Both through HAL, but the timing will be close especially since they just rescheduled the morning Tracy Arm departure for a half hour later. She had just entered the Gastineau Channel about 15 minutes after noon AST. Normally she is pretty close to time - this past Friday was an anomaly. Hope this helps. Rare rafinmd Posted May 26 #20 Share Posted May 26 (edited) I'm thinking both tours are impossible. Unless there's one I don't know about, the Tracy Arm tour meets a small boat at the entrance to Tracy Arm and goes well back into the Fjord and does not return to the ship until perhaps 4-5PM. I'm pretty sure a tour actually from Juneau would see less and return even later. Roy Edited May 26 by rafinmd
Ileneilene123 Posted May 26 #21 Share Posted May 26 (edited) Hi Roy — we are signed up for Tracy Arm by tender at 9:30 am (6 hours) and the Heli- Glacier Dog Sled at 5:15pm. Both through HAL and HAL excursions said there would be no problem, we’d meet the ship in Juneau in time. But I am getting nervous about the timing, especially since I noticed they just moved Tracy Arm to 10am. Edited May 26 by Ileneilene123

I just checked my itinerary for my cruise in July and they have now officially changed the Juneau docking time for the Zaandam from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. That makes sense since they bumped the morning Tracy Arm inlet service call from 9 am to 10 am.
