Rare geoherb Posted June 3 #27 Share Posted June 3 I've enjoyed the Chef's Table three times. When women dine without a man, they get both a rose and a cookbook. Men dining without women get just the cookbook. At the price they charge, I think everyone should get a copy of the cookbook. It would also be nice if they would discount the price to what it is without wine for those who have Plus and Premier packages.

As a reference price before we ever did the Chef's Table on Princess , we went to Victoria's and Alberts at the Disney Grand Floridan Hotel . It was long time ago and so I just checked their prices . This is the lowest current price - $ 295 p.p. The Queen's Room was $375 p.p. and the Chef 's Table was $ 425 p.p. all without wine , tax or gratuity ! Guess who's not going again soon ? https://allears.net/dining/menu/victoria-and-alberts/dinner/ The Dining Room Victoria & Albert's Dining Room7-course "Tasting Menu" Prix Fixe Menu Begins at $295 per Guest. Wine Pairings are additional and begin at $150 or $110 for zero proof. All wine pairings prices are per guest. Pricing does not include tax and gratuity. Menu can change daily. A sample 7-course menu is listed below. Enhancements available throughout the meal at an additional cost.

Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted June 4 Author #34 Share Posted June 4 We have a lot of other nice puffin photos , would you care to see them or would you care to move on ? We did have to move on and stopped at Bogarfjordur Church . Placed on the outskirts of the village of Borgarfjörður Eystri, close to the famed Álfaborg - The City of Elves, stands the church Bakkagerðiskirkja, consecrated in 1901. The church boasts of a beautiful altarpiece, painted in 1914 by the famous local artist Jóhannes S. Kjarval who was brought up in Borgarfjörður Eystri. The altarpiece depicts Christ giving the Sermon on the Mount, standing on top of Álfaborg, with the Dyrfjöll Mountains as a backdrop. This piece is one of Kjarval´s most famous works, attracting tourists visiting Borgarfjörður Eystri.

Rare cr8tiv1 Posted June 4 #38 Share Posted June 4 I am really trying to make sense of this "LIVE". I know that you are NOT on the Caribbean Princess until July 2024, yet you are posting as if you were on the ship now. Am I the only one confused? Maybe you could ask the moderators to change the title of this thread and THEN start a live when you are actually on your next cruise????? 2
Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted June 4 Author #39 Share Posted June 4 (edited) As we were returning to the port we requested a photo stop We exited the bus to a thunderous sound . Behind us was the Gufu Waterfall . 2nd photo shows people to illustrate the size of the falls In this port we could walk off of the ship in a covered tunnel near the blue bus . The Caribbean Princess can't do this and will require water shuttles to go ashore . Edited June 4 by scubacruiserx2
Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted June 4 Author #40 Share Posted June 4 (edited) We had asked the driver to let us out at the church in the town We really liked the bright colors on a foggy day . Edited June 4 by scubacruiserx2
Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted June 4 Author #41 Share Posted June 4 After a quick bite to eat on the ship we could see a waterfall from our balcony , so we set out to explore it . We were looking forward to the falls and back to the ship . We didn't know the names of the waterfalls that we saw that day as we were climbing them . But we like to learn something new every day so we checked it later . This is Budareyrarfoss . https://www.google.com/maps/place/Búðareyrarfoss/@65.2639875,-14.0033732,15.82z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x48cbff281512c119:0x7c4f35c11e5eb748!8m2!3d65.262948!4d-13.9903691!16s%2Fg%2F11q274834b?entry=ttu
Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted June 4 Author #42 Share Posted June 4 We are thrilled today to have met some nice people on our cruise that we are able share a couple of private tours with . Our other friend have things that they want to do and so we are booking some new tours with the new people that we have met through the Cruise Critic Roll Call . We had a good blood draw for my physical and the follow up visit with the Doctor was very good as she arranged for X-rays today for a possible stress fracture of the leg . The meds seem to be working well and there is no evidence of a fracture , so it's full speed ahead . ✈️🛳️
Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted June 5 Author #43 Share Posted June 5 The upward climb had a path for the first part which you can see on the right . The first waterfall that we saw we hiked down and back up . But this one was up first and down later . We stopped where the path did where the view of the ship was wonderful with the fog hanging around all day .
Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted June 5 Author #44 Share Posted June 5 (edited) We learned a good lesson on our last cruise this year which was in January to Antarctica on the NCL Star . We had booked it to Iceland for this May but the trip was going to be expensive as it involved a weeks stay in Iceland which is very expensive . We found the same cabin available to Antarctica as we had booked to Iceland and so we changed trips with only about 5 weeks before the cruise left Buenos Aires . And like Iceland , it involved a stay after the cruise , but this one in Patagonia . While there we went to hike Mount Fitzroy which is 11,000 feet high ! It's too much for us being flatlanders from Florida . So settled for some lesser hikes using hiking poles for balance and some upper body workout . They will be packed on the bottom of the suitcase ( along with our puffer jackets ) to be used when needed . And so we hope to see Penguins and Puffins in the same year . Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted June 5 Author #45 Share Posted June 5 We have been trying for 4 hours to book our private tour to in Akureyri with Tours by Locals . We have a fair amount of credits that we would like to apply to our tour . These credits must be applied when we pay the balance . If not , they remain as credits . Everything we have tried has not worked yet , but we will continue to try until they honor their pledge to allow us to use these credits . A bit frustrated at this point. In the meantime we will show some of what we hope to do in Akureyri .
