coscab Posted June 2 #1 Share Posted June 2 I am looking at a carnival excursion, one of the people that is traveling with us is over 72, excursion cut off is 70, they snorkel and swim better than people half their age, has anyone ever heard of exceptions to this rule? Rare Essiesmom Posted June 2 #2 Share Posted June 2 Covered here frequently. Carnival won’t budge. The excursion companies insurance company sets the rules. Maybe you can find a similar independent excursion that will allow. EM
klfrodo Posted June 2 #3 Share Posted June 2 Haven't heard of an exception but that doesn't mean there are not work arounds. But let's ask ourselves why there may be hard limits. Insurance & liability. Since this is a ship sponsored excursion, this means that Carnival has vetted, researched, and received guidance from their legal team about this activity. Carnival has probably been advised that there needs to be an age limit to protect themselves from liability after consultation with the insurance company. What could be a work around? Investigate further to see if you can find the vendor that Carnival is using. You "might" be able to book directly with them to get around the age limit. coscab Posted June 2 Author #4 Share Posted June 2 Thanks, I tried to search the forum for an answer first but didn't come up with anything. We use an independent excursion on Grand Turk but they want a carnival excursion.
Rare 1025cruise Posted June 2 #5 Share Posted June 2 Unfortunately, this restriction is dictated by the insurance carriers.
