I,d argue that Msc has the easiest muster drill in the industry.

Let me be specific. The Seascape has the easiest muster drill in the cruise industry. Scan your card anytime from 11:30 am from a pink ball capped muster station crew member, take the elevator back to cabin, watch video, call number indicated, done.

P.S. Those that miss embarkation day muster drill, show up at Chora Theatre following morning at 9:30 am to scan card.

100% agree on Seascape muster drill, I hope they start to do this with the other ships.
I was sure to put that feedback into the post cruise survey in hopes they will expand that to the other ships.

I wish MSC would institute that fleetwide. Why have chaos when you have a much better way of doing it

When scanning cards for the muster drill, can one person have all cards scan while the rest stay in the room to watch the video and call the number of do all have to be present to have cards scanned? I don't want to put my wife through walking with the herd. Thanks.

As I said up thread, I have heard that people have had success taking their cabin mate(s) card(s) and getting them scanned on their behalf, though I have not attempted it myself.

I really do not think people read every post. They pop in and out asking the same questions.

That or they think they need to have an answer directed to themselves.

For what it is worth, I just spoke to the Guest Relations manager (no, I didn’t seek her out; this was at the repeater party) and she said they are phasing out the everybody all at once muster. The new way starts on Magnifica next sailing.

I don’t know how you can keep saying that when other cruise lines let you watch the video on your phone at your leisure starting with when you are in the terminal building, and that’s that .. no need to call a number.

Not familiar with other cruise lines (plural) that allow just a simple viewing on one's cell phone and "that's that". Please enlighten us to those cruise lines (plural).

Celebrity and Royal Caribbean to start.

Look, I don’t mean to start a thing here. I am pleased with MSC and the way they are phasing in the same thing. I just wouldn’t say it is currently superior to any other line.

Celebrity is easier. You can be done with the muster requirement before even getting to your cabin when you embark. Watch the video on the mobile app--even before you board. You can also watch it on your stateroom TV if you prefer. Check in at your muster station any time before sail away and you're done. No phone call necessary so one less step than MSC.

Okay, so now I think we are splitting hairs here. ("phrase. If you say that someone is splitting hairs, you mean that they are making unnecessary distinctions between things when the differences between them are so small they are not important)" like calling a phone # and hanging up.

Not splitting hairs or trying to hurt anyone's feelings, just describing the differences. The lack of the phone call--that you must do from your stateroom on MSC--plus the flexibility in watching the video make Celebrity's muster easier.

.. said the person who has twice now declared MSC has the easiest process. No, they don’t. They are getting there and as it is it isn’t bad, but give up the “best in the cruise industry” stuff.

Now if you don’t mind, I’ll go back to enjoying my MSC cruise

It's not really the not having to call the phone number that makes other lines easier, it's the fact that you can check in at your muster station any time between boarding and sail away. It prevents the mobs of people all trying to use the stairs at one time and waiting in lines to check in once at their muster station. There is a BIG difference between 3500 people having to swipe their cards within a 30 minute period and 3500 people having to swipe their cards over the course of 4-5 hours.

That is exactly what occurs on MSC Seascape. Our butler escorted us onto the ship and right to muster station to scan our cards before going to our cabin to drop off our carry on luggage. We then went to the TSL to wash our hands and walk up the crystal staircase to the YC restaurant for lunch. We went back to our cabin to sanitize, wait for our luggage to arrive, watched the required video and called the telephone # which seems superfluous since we already scanned in at muster station. Adding that we were able to use the elevators. MSC is the only cruise line we have been on that allows a muster checkin the following morning in the Chora Theatre at 9:30 am. I believe this added feature tops all the other cruise lines making it "The Best in the Cruise Industry".

Now 3 times...

I’ve been on 70+ cruises and having a make-up muster for those that missed the first day drill is pretty much standard procedure. For cruises that sail away late in the evening (for example, out of San Juan at 10 PM), the muster is the next day for everyone (no, it does not need to be completed before sail away).

Let me turn the tables on you. On what cruise lines have you found inferior muster drill procedures in the last year?

Right. Three times you’ve claimed best in the industry. I’ve switched to counting how many times you’ve dropped that you had a butler.

Well, we pretty much keep ourselves to the MSC Yacht Club with butlers. Prior to April 2024 the muster on the MSC Seascape was pretty bad, but our butler dialed our phone for us to register that we watched the video. Spring Break March 2023 was Holland America Nieuw Amsterdam Pinnacle Suite (no butler) terrible cruise line for suite guests, I think you would like it. One can reserve for the week one of 14 pergolas if in a suite (we did). Entertainment venues were not large enough for all that wanted to attend. Can't recall the muster drill as being too bad. Less people on board helped. Christmas/ New Years was Explora Journeys a Cove Residence with butler (practically useless, except for making unlimited dinner reservations in the limited reservation restaurants Sakura and Marble & Co). Quick muster as only 650 guests on board, (same as Seascape now) . February was a Grand Suite with butler on Regent Grandeur, again a practically useless butler. Very egalitarian cruise line, everything FCFS with no escort to the front of any line. Just like HAL NA,  no reserved pergolas and a lot of chair hogging. Again a faster muster as only 750 on board. I add all these extra tidbits as maybe helpful hints to others reading.
