How is Big Chicken?

I'll take Big Chicken (or Popeyes, or Church's, or KFC, or ...) over Chick-fil-A.

The hate chicken store has a number of really good things - but the actual chicken sandwich is basically a bland cafeteria quality chicken sandwich. I do not get the obsession.

I cannot argue with your assessment, but those lines….do make a statement.

Yeah, but I'm not sure the statement has anything to do with food.

LOL, not sure what other reason it could be…unless they are selling chicken to people in thoise lines…..😱

So you've met my son?  🤣

If you fancy chicken fingers, then y'all should partake in the midnight snacking. I just say no. Regarding the biscuits Carnival saves some serious coin. The new shuffleboard pucks. And, when Carnival becomes the first cruise line to feature "curling." Giddy up. Of course, my PSA... No biscuit chucking into the ocean please.

Woooo!  One more day!

Well, It wasn't mentioned, but, be sure to swing by Java Blue - their latte's are great (and I have to get the oat milk ones!)  Worth the wait in the line in my opinion!  And the crew in there are super nice!!  I hope you have the best week!

We're so excited!  You mentioned Java Blue.  I have free drinks anywhere on the ship with the casino promotion I booked and my son has the bubbles program.  Can both of those be used at Java Blue?  I do love a coffee drink!

Hmmm - I don't know?  I didn't have any drink promotions, so, I paid, and it was worth it to me!  Swing by, and ask the guys, I'm sure they'll let ya know!!  If it's included in your program, even better!  The do have spiked coffee drinks here for you, so, even better!!

Oh hey - also - there is a food counter at Java Blue.  I didn't realize when I sailed that these items were included in your sailing - so - it's a separate line - but - be aware, there are breakfast items and lunch items that are free for the asking!!

If it is included, you must try the chocolate lovers coffee!  Even if it’s not included, definitely a must try.

We tried Big Chicken on Radiance. The tenders were the best and fries were good in our opinion but we didn't like the sandwiches. When we had the sandwiches, the chicken was dry and was not super fresh, didn't seem to matter what time we went. The tenders usually were exactly that, nice and tender. The breakfast wasn't that great in our opinion.

We just had the Big Chicken!   I had the tenders. My son had a sandwich. I like the chicken. My fries were cold and chewy. 😞 I’ll try again on a regular day. But the chicken strips were very good. Yay big chicken!

Thanks for all the great feedback.

Oh you have to give the fries another try!  They are so good when they are hot and fresh!

Glad you both liked the chicken!  Have a great week!!

Haven't had the Big Chicken on a ship, but have had it in a stadium, which is probably a roughly equivalent situation, and it was good. I prefer Popeyes, but BC was better than most fast-service chicken.

We ate here on MG in late 2022 and liked it.  I'd eat at BC for dinner but it closes at 5 or 6.  I've been lobbying for Carnival to keep BC, Guy's, BI open later.

I wasn't real crazy about the slaw at Big Chicken, as the dressing seemed to be all oil, not much vinegar to it.  If you're feeling stopped up, a couple servings of the slaw should help get you cleaned out.

I haven't had any of the sides.  The chicken is enough for me.  I actually ask for 4 strips instead of 2 and that's what I've eaten.

It's definitely worth a try, but I wouldn't have it for dinner. Then again, I think it closes at 5 pm (or at least it did on the ship we were just on). It's a decent breakfast, lunch or snack.

But it's just right on the Lido, likely near a pool, so you don't even need to eat it unless you want to. Your son can have it for lunch or snack while you're at the pool while you eat something else. There are so many food options available!
