Two couples dining together - how to reserve place and time.

We travel with another couple, and always have dined together in MDR, early seating, same table.

With the app -- even online -- how is this handled so that both bookings can "connect" to each other?

You can add them as traveling companions, and then when either of you makes reservations, you have the option to include the other couple. I can't remember where it is in the app but it's in there somewhere.

Thank you.  That makes sense.  Now we have to find that option in the app!

You link the bookings on the dining portion of the app. Click the pencil icon and then plus in the upper right. You need their booking number. Then you can reserve even speciality restaurants for all that are linked.

Except when you have a package.  When you add them, even with the Premier package for both parties, it wants to change you $156.

It didn’t charge me on one of our specialty reservations but tried to on the second. I used the chat feature and CS was able to reserve the second specialty reservation at no charge. That was with both couples having the package.

DMW reservations for MDRs on cruises sailing on or after 9/14 are scheduled to be available on 6/17 when the 3 options will be Traditional, Reservable & Open.

Dear Princess Guest:

Princess Cruises recently announced it is making a significant enhancement to the main dining options found across its fleet, designed to give you the ultimate in flexibility and choice when it comes to your dining experience.

Starting with voyages departing September 14, 2024, Princess will designate separate dining rooms aboard every ship in the fleet* to three table service options:

Traditional dining offering an early and a late seating every evening

Reservable dining times

Open seating to support walk-ins anytime

To support these changes and the transition to the new system, main dining reservations that you may have already made will be cancelled.

This change does not affect anyone booked in specialty dining restaurants or suite or reserve collection accommodations, who enjoy a dedicated dining room on Princess ships, where no reservations are required.

Starting June 17, you will be able to use the app ahead of your voyage to opt for traditional seating in a dedicated dining room with the same waiter, same table and same time each night, or flexible dining, allowing you to enjoy dinner at any available time and table size of your choosing in either the Reservable or Open Seating dining rooms.

* Reservable and Walk-in Anytime Dining will be combined into a single Main Dining Room location aboard Coral Princess and Island Princess.
