So much to report here…. First, I bought transfers for us back to VCE after the cruise. Couldn’t do it in advance, no problem now.

Secondly, B apparently booked us an excursion in Santorini in Spanish. And the English version is now full. aye Dios Mio.

Hey I learned enough Spanish to try to flirt with Spanish girls on Cruise ships. Time to step up

Not the endorsement he's looking for...😇

Paul-

I'm doing a similar itinerary in August on the Island Princess, so once again, thanks a ton for your valuable insight.  I already booked a food tour in Dubrovnik based on your review.

What would you consider a decent amount of time to see the old town part of Kotor like you did?  Three hours?  I'm assuming it'll be blazing and hot and after other port stops, getting back to the ship will be very tempting.

Three hours is perfect. And get off early… I’m not sure if my experience is common, but the first couple hours we were moving freely and exploring… then the masses descended and by the end of our time ashore tourists had absolutely swarmed the old city.

Island will be a great ship to see Kotor with because of her size…have an amazing time!

And yes, it was hot. About 16 degrees Fahrenheit above the average here. We’ve talked to folks onboard tonight who did the hike up the mountain and said it was incredibly taxing.

But don’t let that discourage you in the old town - there’s plenty of shaded passages and cafes with canopies to hang at

Last pic there was a Montenegrin Orthodox Church. Definitely a first for me. I didn’t even know Montenegrin was a language tbh. This part of the world has been a bit of a blind spot for me.

Entire cruise can/should be written off as continuing education credits, part of your geography teacher credentialing.  Let us know how that goes....

Norway is amazing, and, yes, better than Alaska

Can not wait. B is hesitant to do a lot of Iceland stops since she spent a week there, so as soon as we find a summer itinerary heavy on Norway we are in (I’m personally great with the Iceland)
