Princess Cruises Launches Cruise Industry's Best Price Guarantee on 2025 & 2026 Cruises

To me, the press release says (incorrectly) that you get both the refare and 120% of the difference in OBC, but the "How it works" and "terms and conditions" only mention the OBC.  Princess may be moving away from refaring. I spent more than an hour on the phone yesterday with offshore to get two simple refares; in the past it would have taken five minutes.

I just can’t see this working in the real world. We are booked on an October cruise. We’ve received fare drop after fare drop before final payment. In fact, this week we received TWO on Monday and another on Tuesday. Just as when Princess rolled out something similar to this a year or so ago, and we all asked if they were really going to let their ships sail with empty cabins, the answer to that was NO. When I checked a month ago, 25% of the cabins on our cruise were not booked, and what we’ve seen is Princess attempting to fill them with price drops. We’ve been re-fared so often that we upgraded categories and are still saving 50% of the original fare. I am now waiting until after final payment to get the CCL OBC re-applied, as it drops off with every re-fare.

We are just second class citizens here in the UK!

I don’t know if that’s always true. I got a better deal on my latest cruise through an Oz cruise site than I would have through a US cruise site!

This deal does apply to Oz. Maybe it applies to you too - worth checking the princess website if you are interested.

Our TA just spoke to her Princess Sales rep and confirmed that you only receive the 120% OBC, not the refare.  Useless promotion!

This deal does apply to Australia!

But can you get this deal if you go through a TA? It reads to me as if it’s only if you deal direct with Princess.
Maybe I’m thinking of a cruise website? Is that different to a TA?

We get better deals through a cruise website than the Princess website. Is that generally the same for the US passengers?

You can use a TA for this promotion.  We find the cruise/fare that we want to book on the Princess web site.

Then we call our TA and let her know what we want to book.  Frequently, she gets us a better fare than what we saw on the web site.

We have not looked at any other cruise booking web sites in many years.

From the PR:
Princess will honor the lower rate and provide 120% of the difference in the form of an onboard credit.

For me the key is "AND" so I would look for the lower rate plus the 9600 in OBC, but dang, good luck spending all that OCB!  Lots of spa treatments, maybe some expensive bottles of wine?

Be interested in others thoughts.

I think I could easily spend half that on wine.  It’s a 32 day cruise!  I suppose I would give them back the remainder in the casino.

The top half of the news release doesn't match the terms and conditions at the bottom or those on the Princess website. I wonder if Princess will eventually send out another news release to correct the error.

It won't affect us most likely because I'll still wait until after the final payment date to book my cruises.
