Larz O Posted June 30 #1 Share Posted June 30 Curious also on this topic as it relates to the cheers program. example guest A&C in room 1 with cheers guest b &D in room 2 with no cheers. can guest c&d switch rooms while on board and not have to purchase Cheers? Have two expecting cruisers that do not wish to purchase cheers program. We have 5 people going on a cruise and have 3 different rooms but only person wants cheers package. Considering moving people around so we can buy cheers before we go. I will be moving to a different room and my fiancé in the room alone with cheers purchased. While onboard if we move me back to her room would we get charged another cheers package? Or is there a better way around this?
cflips7 Posted June 30 #2 Share Posted June 30 Once onboard you can get extra keys for the staterooms and sleep where ever you want. The cruise line does not know where you sleep only what room you booked. We used to do this all the time before my kids turned 21.

Gotcha, I’ve seen people saying you can go to guest services and have them switch you back to that room once onboard. Is that true or just a different way of saying getting a room key for a different room than you are booked?
cflips7 Posted July 1 #4 Share Posted July 1 You can have them switch you but why. That is a lot of messing around when all you need is a key.

Rare jimbo5544 Posted July 1 #6 Share Posted July 1 (edited) I believe it is extra room keys only, not swapping people's accounts in rooms. Edited July 1 by jimbo5544

mz-s Posted July 1 #8 Share Posted July 1 If you're doing this to share Cheers with 4 people while only buying 2 packages, beware that Carnival has the right to cancel Cheers and go back and charge you for all drinks if they determine you're sharing. I don’t drink, my Fiance does and we don’t want to pay for 2 Cheers packages when one of us doesn’t drink
Rare 1025cruise Posted July 1 #10 Share Posted July 1 If you swap around, then the other people will need to buy cheers. Off you just get extra key cards, nothing needs to be done.
vjmatty Posted July 1 #11 Share Posted July 1 Yes, in fact I know people who purposely put one teen in each room instead of separating adults and teens if only one adult wants the alcohol package.
Larz O Posted July 1 Author #12 Share Posted July 1 That all makes sense, was just curious cause everyone going is 21+. So no real way around it other than just getting a room key for the room then.
