Rare pierces Posted July 1 #1 Share Posted July 1 Pictures taken between Monday, July 1 and Sunday, July 7. Where did I go and what did I see in July 2024? That's what you'll be asking yourself in the future if you don't get out and use your camera. Bonus memory boost....post some of those photos here and they will be immortalized! Rules: See above That's it. This isn't a contest. All photos taken this week are welcome (not just cruising). Prizes will not be awarded. Discovering the joy of photography is the prize. The idea is to get folks out using their cameras for more than vacations and toddler birthdays. Post one. Post many. Up to you. Have fun with your camera and share your fun with others! Rare pierces Posted July 8 Author #2 Share Posted July 8 Every year about this time, our night-blooming cactus opens its seasonal business. Anywhere from a few to a couple dozen hand-sized blossoms open up just after dark and stay open until shortly after the sun rises. First light starts the second act of the show with a steady stream of workers arriving to harvest the abundance of pollen. The cactus has provided steady employment for thirty years or so since my in-laws planted it their back yard. It flourished there, growing to nearly ten feet tall with many branches. About ten years ago, I took a cutting and opened a branch office (pun intended) in our back yard. Business has been good, and we recently expanded the franchise, moving to a more permanent ground-based location. Rare RobInMN Posted July 14 #6 Share Posted July 14 (edited) Was in Ames, Iowa and went to Reiman Gardens where they had one of these: Not sure it's real name, but I'll go with "Kaleidoscope Planter". Some of my results: The main reason for going: Some other pics: Edited July 14 by RobInMN
