This is from a retired ship engineer who is a wealth of information. It has helped us in the past. I have already stated very clearly this was not the issue. There was a layer of urine on the bathroom floor that had not been washed. It has now been washed and the smell is gone.

Rare vickykay Posted July 27 #1429 Share Posted July 27 You should definitely speak to the hotel director about all the issues hard having. As a fellow special educator( retired school psychologist working with special needs infants and preschoolers) I know how valuable your vacation days are and costs of cruises, 1

I told our steward, who cleaned it repeatedly. It was then better, but never went away completely. I suspect the odor was coming from the drains. Yes we dumped water (lots! ) down our drain on NCL and the smell went away.
Rare YVRteacher Posted July 27 Author #1431 Share Posted July 27 I may start showering here. The Wake Show will have a whole new meaning! Movies Under the Stars with people actually watching the movie. Tonight it was Wonka. 5
Rare YVRteacher Posted July 28 Author #1432 Share Posted July 28 Ken Boyd #3 He was having so much fun he did an extra 15 minutes. Sometimes you see comedians checking their phones for a set list or timing. Not Ken. He is a smart, gifted comedian and I now have two favourite comedians: Kristin Key and Ken Boyd.
Rare YVRteacher Posted July 28 Author #1433 Share Posted July 28 I get it. It can be difficult to decide what to wear for formal night. Decisions, decisions. Casual or dressy? Can’t decide? Do what this guy did and do some of each. (seen on deck 7 at 11:30pm) 1

Or was a terrible packer.

Do some Princess ships allow smoking in the casino while other ships are non-smoking? All casinos on Princess are smoking - they do have non-smoking sections but since it's all open - what is the point 🤦♀️ The Island is a very SMALL casino - not much action, older machines. DH who loves the casino doesn't gamble on the Coral or Island. 1
Rare YVRteacher Posted July 28 Author #1436 Share Posted July 28 We are in Ireland today! My first time on the Emerald Isle! I have an excursion that involves exploring Cork and sampling Jameson Whiskey. It’s going to be a great day! Are there any traditional Irish foods and drinks I should try? Please don’t recommend lamb.
Perfectlife Posted July 28 #1437 Share Posted July 28 Colcannon or Champ. Both very tasty. Irish fry up….usually breakfast though. All sorts of wheaten bread. Black pudding and white pudding. Very different tastes.

Rare YVRteacher Posted July 28 Author #1441 Share Posted July 28 Just googled these puddings. They do not sound like something that comes in a little dessert dish with whipped cream and a cherry on top. They also contain chopped up animal parts and are not suitable for vegetarians. I am a vegetarian. It will be a puddingless day in Ireland.☘️
Rare YVRteacher Posted July 28 Author #1442 Share Posted July 28 What is up with British peanut butter? You take a bite and your whole mouth is stuck to itself from top to bottom. Is this natural stuff or something?? 1

Norwegianprincess Posted July 28 #1446 Share Posted July 28 Wish you a beautiful day in Cobh/Cork. If you have time after the excursion, take a walk up to the cathedral in Cobh, wonderful view over the city. We went to a pub in Cork that locals recommended, called The Long Valley, very nice. My friend Berit, who you also met last year, says hello 😊 (I’m at her place right now)

Rare YVRteacher Posted July 28 Author #1450 Share Posted July 28 Follow up: The bar manager phoned me this morning. He asked me to describe in more detail what happened yesterday at Princess Live when I ordered the Vanilla Bean Latte. He said the bartender is new and just boarded the ship in Southampton and that he will receive further training. The bar manager apologized and we chatted a bit. He switched to Princess from Norwegian after Covid. Credit to Princess for letting each department know and step by step following up with my concerns. I doubt the music in the piazza will be toned down (it wasn’t yesterday) and they can’t remove the smoke from the casino (oh wait-they could make it non smoking!) so I just avoid the piazza but that means avoiding a lot of great restaurants and bars on the ship. I had a great day yesterday and, like this contraption that just glided by, am sailing along happily
