palolake Posted July 4 #1 Share Posted July 4 I was on the Princess website and read today that Reserve Class mini suites get priority specialty dining reservations. I knew that about regular suites but not the RC mini suites which we usually book. How do you go about doing that? When you call or go to the restaurant for reservations can they tell you have priority? I'm assuming they must hold a few tables aside for this. skynight Posted July 4 #2 Share Posted July 4 I am not familiar with the procedures Sun Princess, but on all other ships it is walk up dining anytime the DR is open with prompt seating.
Crown Cruiser Posted July 4 #3 Share Posted July 4 We stayed in full suites many times and there were a few days that we couldn't get a reservation at a Specialty Restaurant until after 8:30. Try to book specialty reservations as soon as you can, so you're not disappointed. I really don't think there is priority for suites and RC minis if you wait too long. Once the tables book, that's it. The only other think you could possible do if you get shut out, is show up mid evening and see if they had any no-shows. We never book specialty dinners in advance and have never not gotten a table. We book sites and check the MDR menu in the morning if we don’t like the menu we ask the manager at suite breakfast to get us table at a specialty after 7:30 pm Again never been turned down. The never book every table In advance and will cater to suite passengers
arizonaperson Posted July 4 #5 Share Posted July 4 (edited) @palolake yes the Princess website does say :priority specialty dining reservations for reserve collection minis. Receive special assistance with priority Reservations at your favorite specialty restaurants. I would say if you have an opportunity to book specialty now ,prior to your voyage, I would, if you know when & where you want to dine. But if you don’t know where you want to dine or which evening until you get onboard, I’m sure someone ( cruise staff in specialty?) can help you with the special assistance. They probably hold a certain number of reservations for special purposes, like casino comps, suites, reserve collection minis, etc. Edited July 4 by arizonaperson
railman Posted July 4 #6 Share Posted July 4 We have booked Reserve Collection (formally Club Class) several times. There were times that the restaurants were "sold out" but we were told by the host to show up when we wanted to and were always seated.
skynight Posted July 4 #7 Share Posted July 4 I am going to clarify my previous post. In that post I am speaking about the normal MDR, not specialty restaurant dining.
Crown Cruiser Posted July 4 #8 Share Posted July 4 Wow - I guess we will have to ask the suite breakfast manager to book us the table or the concierge. In the past, we did everything on our own.

Really easy to book through the breakfast manager since you are already in a specialty restaurant
