Parkhopper Posted July 12 #1 Share Posted July 12 We are going on a Mediterranean cruise and I don’t want to carry an excess of money. I know that I can get funds to play slots, but how can I get funds to play table games? Is the convenience fee waived if you are Prime or Signature? sie625 Posted July 12 #2 Share Posted July 12 Can't speak to being Prime or Signature, but was just able to show my seapass and get chips at table games, convenience fee applied. Usually took a grand total of like 45 seconds.
klfrodo Posted July 12 #3 Share Posted July 12 You can apply for casino credit before you cruise. You can apply to wire money to the casino. You can apply for casino credit while on the cruise. Or, You can hand them your seapass card to the dealer and they will charge it to your on board account. as mentioned above.
Ozzie26 Posted July 12 #4 Share Posted July 12 If you are Prime or Signature, you will not be charged a fee for getting chips at the tables. It will be charged to your room. We never board with more cash than necessary for tips.
Rare Tree_skier Posted July 12 #5 Share Posted July 12 If you want to avoid the 5% surcharge when using your sea pass card go to a slot machine and charge up to $500 to your room. You can immediately cash out and take the ticket to the cashier and they will give $500 cash to use at the tables. You can only do this once on a cruise and only up to $500.

Those slot machine credit tickets can also be redeemed at the gaming tables for chips. And when you're done playing, you can turn in your remaining chips (if any!) to the dealer/croupier/etc. and get another credit ticket you can take to the cashier for cash. At least, that was the situation on Harmony a few weeks ago. Edited July 12 by joepeka

I don't know if all the RCI ship casinos are able to handle it that way.

With regard to Harmony, exchanging slot voucher at a table game for chips is currently under trial in the small non smoking casino by the theater. This can not be done in the main casino (yet). If the trial works then this option will be offered in the main Casino. No time frame was given. Information source : Patrick, current assistant manager.

Hopefully, the trial is deemed successful and they move it to the main casino(s).
