I’m hoping that will pay for your next cruise.

Not unless the casino offers me one where I just need to pay the taxes 🤣

Just been to see the Macdonald Bros in the Queens Room and my first impression of the venue stands - not big enough, not well laid out and the fact that there are conference style chairs popping up all over to fill in spaces says it all! Those on the divided walkway seating area complaining of those standing/blocking their view but understandable as not enough seats and set up with lean to areas for drinks!

Well done Myles - are the chips souvenirs or worth a few bob? Hopefully there is enough in that pile to book another cruise!

They are cash-value chips that I could have used on the tables, but I chose to cash out and add the winnings to my onboard account (which have covered it so far)

I agree completely think the Queens Room is awful.

We spent almost two hours front row in a packed deck three ‘balcony' watching the dancers and listening first to the Amethyst Duo again and then The MacDonald Bros., again. The Queens Room Live, as it was called felt like a cosy night club and as I nipped down in the interval between the two, to see the main area, as on deck three, it was pretty well crowded too.

I like the Queens Room and last night, it was utilised by a large number of  passengers, as I think a main entertainment area of the ship should be.

Horses for courses as they say and whilst I am more than happy to arrive early for a show/ performance I don't want to arrive an hour or so earlier just to find a seat.

Join our club!

That’s how wheelchair passengers feel when 'we' can’t get the required seating because of inconsiderate passengers taking the seats, unless we arrive super early to guarantee the seats.

Devil's advocate here. If seats were taken, it must mean other passengers decided to arrive early enough to get seated.

Gauge the situation and act accordingly. We knew the area would be packed, decided to have an early ish dinner ( crispy duck…the best on a Cunard ship  we have ever had) and go and enjoy an evening of live music which suited our tastes. 🙂

I didn’t spend much time there, as I don’t dance and don’t enjoy the sort of music mentioned. On the rare occasions we had tea, we would go elsewhere. But I thought its decor was very boring, just nothing really. Strange when there are so many gorgeous spaces, such as the Britannia Restaurant, the commodore Club and the Pavillion. However, it is a bit nicer than the Grills Lounge, of course. 😀

I mentioned best ever crispy duck on Cunard a few posts back, and I lauded the Chicken Pad Thai some nights ago.

I know this might seem an outrageous thing to say from the comfort of a rather nice QG cabin etc but it’s been very difficult getting our normal off menu requests.

Why?

Simply because the menus have been so  absolutely great. We seriously can’t fault a darn thing about the food in QG other than the fact the choices are so wonderful, it’s difficult to choose.

Whereabouts in QG are you sat Victoria?  We’ve done a linked booking with some friends in November - they are in a Q2 and we are in a Q3 (so 4 of us in total) and I’m interested to know where they are likely to sit us.

Agree with you that the food in QG on QA is excellent!

I’ll post a photo of our table position and that of the one behind where a  Q1'er is seated in my overall review.

What I would say is, the configurations are fluid but you won’t be sat in the boon docks, possibly in a four top, siding onto the window.

Thanks - this is what I’m hoping for!

Tell your friends, corkscrew, bottle opener, cocktail shaker and other bar stuff is in one of the side cupboards by the bar set up.

Then they won’t feel foolish when asking the very sweet and kind  butler ‘could we have a bottle opener please' as I did, last May.🥴

conference style chairs popping up, is nothing new, have seen that on all the other ships when they need extra seating in the QR for popular events, as for its size, for 95% of the time the size it is adequate, its just on some very popular events it can get crowded, there again so does the QR on Victoria and Elizabeth. While your comments are valid, the results of a busy QR are not unique to QA

It is that bad and a severe shortage of seats that they have started putting out plastic stackable conference chairs to accommodate people.

Not just for popular events it is nearly all the time because Queens Room is far smaller and funny shape than QV/QE. A very poorly designed room IMO.

After cashing in the winnings from the tournament, we participated in the foil fencing. I haven’t done this for years and my partner never, but it was great fun.

Nice cocktail party last night for CWC guests! Managed to have a quick chat with the captain who asked us if we’ve been on all this time or had a break in between 🤣 it’s my understanding we’ve been onboard as long as he has currently.

Party was followed by a lovely dinner in the Britannia restaurant which was nearing empty by the time we left.

The ventriloquist was great & very funny, haven’t laughed like that for many others in the past.
