Boston port to airport

Recommended Posts

We received an email from Princess that due to road construction we should plan extra time getting to the airport from the ship.
does anyone have more info on how much extra time I should plan for?
this would be on a Sunday morning.

Why does it matter. There is only one pier in Boston which can hold two ships.

if OP allows an extra 30 minutes that should be more than enough. It is usually only about a 15 minute Uber ride.

Sumner Tunnel is closed until Aug 5th. It runs FROM Logan Airport into the city. The tunnel you’ll take from the port TO Logan is the Ted Williams. When you get off the ship walk around the large white building (Boston Design Center) to 23 or 25 Dockyard Ave. From 23 or 25 call for your Uber. At that point DryDock Ave is 2 way so your Uber driver can “bang a uey” make a uturn and avoid the chaos at the pier.

I would think just an additional 20 minutes. The airport is the next exit from the seaport. With the Sumner tunnel closed, the Ted Williams will have a bit more traffic, but the distance to go isn't that far.

The OP stated that they are sailing on the Emerald on August 4, so they would be returning NLT 11 August, by which time the tunnel is scheduled to have been re-opened for almost a week. We drove down from Burlington and parked at the port to board the Emerald yesterday around 9AM . I didn't find the Sunday AM traffic in the area to be bad at all, so I'm sure you are correct that the OP won't have any worries.
