Tricky question?

Recommended Posts

We are sailing on a back to back next month on the Ascent.

The first leg we are in a standard sunset veranda stateroom. The 2nd leg we are in a Celebrity Suite. My question is on the morning of disembarkation at the end of our first cruise in the sunset veranda are we allowed to have our breakfast in Lumanie since we are technically checking into our celebrity suite that day?

Not a big deal but wondering what the policy is?

Think about it in reverse...

If you were instead moving from the SS to the sunset veranda, would you be annoyed if you were told you couldn't eat breakfast in Luminae since you would be "technically checking in to" your SV "that day"?

Talk to the host in the Retreat Lounge about disembarkation.

We did a B2B going from AQ to a SS.  We inquired about the B2B at the retreat lounge about if we could join the suite guests on the 2nd leg when embarking.   We were told that we could also meet and wait in the lounge that morning instead of going to the area for non suite guests during the disembarkation.

Those restaurants get very busy that morning because there is no room service and everyone wants the last meal before getting off.  I doubt that they would permit you to do that.

There were Tapas, fruit, available in the Retreat Lounge that morning along with pastries.  It could be enough to carry you over until lunch in Luminae.

We had breakfast in Blu that morning as we were in AQ.

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Our experience has been that the Retreat Lounge is jammed on debarkation morning with suite guests and their luggage.  Finding a chair can be a challenge. You were fortunate they allowed you to wait in the lounge.  On some sailings that could be different.  On our last cruise there were 41 cabins moving from non suites to suites on turnaround day.  That could have added +/-80 people to the lounge.

Our experience with B2B (in ports where disembarkation is mandatory) has been that all of us meet together at a set time in one location (e.g., the Blu restaurant) with the person coordinating the B2B switch - no suite/non-suite business - so that we can disembark together as an escorted group, wait in the terminal together, and return together.  There was no "join the suite guests on the 2nd leg when embarking".  We then all boarded together, those of us in suites, and those not, ahead of everyone else.

We did B2B in US on Beyond.  IV to Suite.  We were to be notified of where to meet but was not done due to poor room steward.  We were found in the Club awaiting departure and rentry to ship as required.  Took us to B2B suite waiting area to start enjoying retreat life.

My question to you is, in what world would you expect to be able to do that?

as others have said, that will most likely be a no, as you won’t have your new sea pass card yet. But cheer up - you will be eating lunch and dinner in Luminae after getting back on board!
