Currently #1 in my new league after my workout.

Back in the room getting ready for dinner now.

Tonight I'll be dining in Giovanni's and I will not be doing the pizza.

Wow - enjoy.  Can't wait for the photos.

BTW, when you have a chance - may I ask who is the Hotel Director on the ship?

Hugs,

NJ

Thanks for the great review.  We'll be boarding the Freedom when you get off.  It's been over 10 years since our last trip on Freedom.   Leave some money in the casino for us!

While I've got a few minutes to spare before dinner let's finish talking about last night's dinner.

I really have to remind myself this is not specialty dining, and it is not Carnival who has really done well with their new menu with very nice sauces and flavors that really make their dishes stand out while still meeting the strict budgets mainstream cruise lines have to deal with.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with my fish. It was cooked well, came at a good temperature, but nothing about it stood out in any way. It was perfectly fine, it just wasn't noteworthy in any way. The same applies to my Portobello mushroom. I can not find any fault with it, it just lacked any pizazz.

I am sure the fact that I was not hungry was part of the reason I was not jumping for joy at the flavors in my mouth. But then came the key lime pie. This was absolutely delicious and I devoured every last bite with joy.

Not quite able to finish on a high note, the dark chocolate custard was too loose and did not really have much flavor at all. I would probably not order this again.

The key lime pie and crab cake were the stars of the meal as was the service. I really appreciate how efficient the dinner service was as a long drawn out experience is not something I enjoy.

Also kudos to how quickly I made it in with no reservation. I would love it if this is the new norm for Royal's MDR which I have really struggled with in the past!

Picking my battles. I like the brownie the best and two desserts didn't seem like a good idea 😄

Thank you!

Our funnel cakes were not cooked thru today wished we had gotten the brownie now.

So far the casino is in no danger of being bankrupted by myself 😅

As the menus are duplicated on all ships, we find that the "Taste of Caribbean" or "taste of Mexico" have little to offer us, and we end up getting the (not always tender) strip steak.  But dessert is always the best!

Spagetti Bolognaise alway good too

I remember really enjoying the fish option on Mexican night. Hope it's as good as I remember.

Not sure what your budget is, but my friend and I have had a lot of success playing Wheel of Fortune (with Gold Spin) on Freedom the last few years (he had 4 hand pays when he was on Freedom a few weeks ago). The downside is all our success has come betting $10 a spin. Like most slot machines, your odds increase on WOF as you increase your bet, but $10 a spin is definitely at the upper limit of my comfort zone.

I love WOF but it's out of my budget range unless I find an old style quarter machine where I can max bet at $2.50. Most all I see now are the $1 machines.
