Premium suite on princess discovery

Recommended Posts

What does sloping wall mean on the Discovery premium suite? Where is the slope? Do you feel the ship movement more in the back of the ship? I have a tendency for seasickness so this is a concern.  What about the front of the ship?

Traveling with handicapped sister and really need a walk in shower not shower with tub. All handicap rooms taken.

Appreciate your input

Sloping Wall is in the front and if you get seasick, you do not want to be there.  It's just the curvature of the ship.  Aft is better for movement but lower level is the best. The showers in suites require you to step up, they are not handicap accessible.

The sloping wall in a premium suite is the wall facing the front of the ship where the bedroom is located. We love the size of these bedrooms and the slope doesn't really cause any issues.

We've stayed in these suites about half a dozen times and never experienced really bad ship movement but maybe not for you if you do suffer from seasickness.. You can hear the anchor being dropped and wound in but never bothered us.

The bathroom area is a step up but the shower is really roomy with a glass door

These staterooms are a long trek from the forward elevators - if available, you would be better off looking for a penthouse suite on deck 14 as these are between the aft and mid-ship elevators. These penthouse suites are also very close to the Concierge Lounge.

The other issue that you may have...you don't mention if your companion is in a chair or on a scooter.  The doors to the cabins on this class of ships is very narrow, they may not fit.  If they can walk a bit, it should be ok.

If the sister is in a wheelchair or scooter note the entrance doors are 22 inches. The The equipment has to fit through. Also note that if she uses a walker it should be a foldable one.
