FREEDOM OF THE SEAS: BEHIND THE LENS. September 8-15, 2024

Bahamas.

Comparison to Oahu.

On Hawaii there’s a store ABC. And it stands for ALL BLOCKS AND CORNERS.

Here there is a restroom on all blocks and corners.

Signs of the times:

Well.

To all fellow gamblers.

The slots displayed a hot and cold kinda mood.

One day you get a hand pay and play on $100 the whole night.

The other DAYS you put in $??? And you put in $??? And golly gee it’s like the movie. “Groundhogs day”.  Over and over again.
The bad news is I did not break even.
Well to the amount of $???

The good news. I earned a free.             JS 8 nights on Oasis with $1500 free play.

Looking at the cost now. I am ahead $???

Later.

Not that I’m afraid.

I do not have a fear of today.

But.

Just finished reading to this point of your review.  I am renaming it Freedom of the Cankles!!!

My family and I will be on the Freedom in 3 weeks, so I have been following your review very carefully.  So glad that you seem to be having a good time, and have your cankles under control.  They seem to bother me when I HAVE been doing a lot of walking while wearing athletic shoes. Wearing any other walking type shoes, they are not a problem.  If we have no excursions, and are hanging out around the ship, I do not get them. 🤷‍♀️  I have never taken anything for them, but I don't think I could because I have a tiny bladder.  I take enough bathroom break as it is!

Questions: When did you find out that the ship was not going to Labadee?  Our itinerary still shows that we are porting there.  Not thrilled.

What time were you finally able to disembark? Please answer when you are off and settled.

Cute kitty, BTW.

P.S. - Friday the 13th can also be a good luck date.  My grand-nephew was born early this morning!!! 🙂

Get this.

LABADEE is back on the cruise agenda starting in October.

The powers that be are deciding how the transitioning back of those sailings that was on their initial itinerary will happen.

In the next few weeks information will be made available.

The ships and return date in October has yet to be  determined .

I provided what I heard and who said it.

JUST THE FACTS

When I have to get off the ships, I love getting the red tags. As I leave the ship. and am asked what my number is, I just say Pinnacle, and show my gold card. Only took 20 years to get there.

The last time we sailed Freedom. Suites were gold.

Yup.
Gold now is for  PINNS

Now we’re silver for suites

I don't have to imagine it. I lived it on our first Oasis sailing. We were stopped leaving the ship. Apparently a lot of people had the same issue with credit card info not transferring from the terminal to the ship. I was really pissed. I asked the guy at Guest Services why I was not notified during the week only for me to find out when I already have the stress of trying to get my family home. After he straightens it out he says to me that I can go now. At that point I lost it and told him under no uncertain terms that I was not standing in line again to get off of the ship and I wanted immediately off of the ship and gave him a big piece of my mind. He wasted no time finding me an escort to get us off the ship. There were loads of people encountering the same issue.

We have had the same issue. Surprisingly on Oasis as well. We were asked to go to guest services. We were not catching a flight so cannot complain about that, but bothersome and time consuming. Now dh goes to guest services the night before and gets a printed zero bill with account settled with cc..

I thought silver was for junior suites. That must mean they can go to Chops also. Actually, Chops was not usually very busy anyway.  I usually found the same group eating at the same time.

20 years and I'm still not close to P.

I was retired. Lots of B2B's A few casino comps.  Moved to Florida.

But no suites. Had some nice double points after the shut down, but did not go crazy, kind of figured it made up for what we missed during shut down.

Even with Mo gone, I will continue. Have 15 booked now.

It has already been out there, and the ships are on the port schedule.  Only six visits in October.  Two by Freedom, Two by Indy, and Two by Adventure.

They keep ramping up in November, and are mostly back in December and beyond.  Of course, everything may change depending on how the situation in Haiti goes.

We used to like going there and renting a cabana. They are going for over $600 the last I looked, pre cruise. Absolutely no way would I pay that.

Any more than the crazy prices on Coco Cay.

Coco Cay makes Labadee look like a bargain.

I went through the last 6 pages and didn't notice if you mentioned who the captain was. Do you remember who it was?

Very observant.

I will find out.
