zitsky Posted September 28 #1 Share Posted September 28 Princess allows vaping in cabins. Has anyone found this a problem, going into a cabin where someone was vaping all day? Either because of smell or the exhaust coating everything? I’m convinced I can tell even when it’s flavorless. There are ingredients in the exhaust that get on everything. And there is a particular smell that you can notice in addition to whatever flavor they decide to use.

crawford Posted September 28 #3 Share Posted September 28 1 minute ago, crawford said: No they don’t. Princess Cruises prohibits smoking or vaping of all types, including e-cigarettes, in guest staterooms and balconies. This reflects the preferences of a vast majority of our guests who value having their primary living space (both stateroom and balcony) smoke-free. As balconies are a hallmark of Princess Cruises, we believe it is important to keep this peaceful space clear of smoke. Violations to this policy will result in a $250 fine for each occurrence, which will be charged to the guest’s stateroom account. Keeping with the global trend toward more restrictive smoking policies and honoring the wishes of our guests, we feel this enhances our onboard experience. 4

Because I’ll go try to find the source of what I posted. I did see a comment about having to go through the casino to get to the theater, the arena I think it was. But a mention that there are ways to get there without going through the casino. Would most people say smoking is a non issue on Princess?

You can get to the theater by using deck 7 or any other deck than deck 6, casino is deck 6 (most ships).
9tee2Sea Posted September 28 #8 Share Posted September 28 I always find that smokers tend to conjugate in the outdoor areas around the pool. Cant smoke on balconies or in cabins. The ventilation system in the casino is pretty good. It's not like the old stinky smoke filled casino of decades ago. I think smoking is a non-issue on Princess. I find they are pretty considerate to the surroundings. Now...MSC is a different story. Those Europeans LOVE to smoke.

We prefer upper seats anyway.

9tee2Sea Posted September 28 #13 Share Posted September 28 I believe there are certain areas by the pool ( around the windows with tables) that are smoking areas. I don't think one can smoke on a lounger on the pool deck. They do smoke by outdoor bars. Luckily for us non-smokers, we can get up and leave if someone starts smoking, there are many more places for us to enjoy than for the die hard smokers who MUST smoke. We saw people openly vaping by the pool on the Caribbean Princess in January. They didn’t try to hide it and no one did anything about it.

It’s disgusting, if you can’t even sit on your own balcony. Also, cabin steward will kindly ask them not to smoke or vape, as it is against the rules and there is a fine if they get caught.

sandancer Posted September 28 #18 Share Posted September 28 (edited) We were on the Regal. I hated that smoking was allowed in one area of the casino. Normally we would spend an hour or so in there each evening but barely went at all because the smoke was drifting over to the rest of the casino. My husband has a serious respiratory condition which is aggravated by smoke. This is not enough to stop us cruising with Princess as we enjoy everything else but we just won’t be making our usual donation every evening. Actually I could probably get yet another expensive handbag with the savings. Edited September 28 by sandancer

The smoking lounges AKA casinos which only allows limited gambling are the biggest negative for us as the smell doesn't stay in the casino. I don't blame the smokers, I blame Princess for allowing the smokers to use the casino as a smoking lounge especially when the casino isn't open for gambling. It would be nice if Princess followed Celebritys lead and did away with all inside smoking.

I have not problem rating out a balcony smoker. I had to do it one time while on an RC ship years ago and got immediate results. All that book balconies are booking smoke free balconies.
