Great to hear! My wife and I love to spend "to much" time in the piano bar, we are usually there when they close down.

totally selfish, but it's a shame that Greg Gallelo has left the Miracle to go back home to release his CD's... he was the best piano bar player we have seen.

 

Able to learn songs from listening to them on an ipod, or would download the notes and lyrics if he totally didn't know them.

 

improved lyrics to interact with the crowd like I had never seen before either.

 

Hoping to see him back at Carnival one day.

I was a bit disappointed on my recent Imagination cruise. I always look forward to spending some time in the piano bar. I saw a video of Liz on you tube and thought she was pretty good...

 

So, night one there is a sign on the door saying "Due to circumstances beyond our control there will be no live entertainment tonight in the Mirage Bar".

 

Night two, I got there just after 9:30 and she was on a break (understandable) and chatting with a passenger. At 10pm another passenger asked if he could play for a while, she said ok and stood by the piano while he played. After 10 minutes or so I gave up and left as the room had pretty much cleared out.

 

Night three was Cozumel night so she was off.

 

Night four the sign was back up and nobody was there.

 

Not sure what the problem was...

Well, there has been a little schedule re-jiggering. Just talked to Angela Johnson and she is heading to the Carnival Inspiration this weekend to take over the piano bar. She says her contract is open ended, so I don't know where that leaves Liz Strauss who was supposed to take over in July from Calvin. Oh well, it will be figured out soon I guess. Also Bruce McGhie is staying with the Elation until it goes to drydock in October.

I suspect that everyone by now knows but just in case... Carnival has banned smoking in the piano bars fleet wide.

 

I'm a non-smoker... ex-smoker, but I don't know if this is good or bad. I do know that drinking and carousing in the bar may not be what it used to be. But no matter what, "it is what it is".

 

I also wanted to say Hi to Laura... Hi Laura. Are you going to be on BC5?

He is great, isn't he.

 

He was a finalist in Canadians version of American Idol.......and although he didn't win...he is as a winner to a lot of Carnival cruisers.

Just an FYI, Greg always goes home to Grand Bend in the summer. He has some regular gigs there and other stuff going on. I would venture to say that he will be back on a Carnival ship in the fall.

Yes, as long as Ron is going to be in the piano bar I will be on BC5. Already got our cove balcony booked. Leaving the boyfriend and home this time and cruising with fellow Ron-tourage (and Board) member JXR. Are you going?

 

I thought about posting the smoking thing here, but figured there were so many other threads about it already. Smoking or Non-Smoking as long as the piano bar entertainer is good, the place will be lively. I don't smoke and I caroused plenty on BC4. You even posted pictures as proof! LOL!

 

@LHP - no surprises this time, it was just too complicated and overwhelming last time! LOL!

I sailed with him last year on the Destiny. I really enjoyed him. Lower key, but had a great repertoire and nice interaction with the passengers.
