Best Piano Entertainer on Carnival?

Anyone know anything about Dave Filsinger :confused:

Only thing I could find were 2-videos and comments on U-Tube that he was someone's Music Teacher/ choir teacher????

... and a so-so sing-a-long where we were hoping the "singer-along" was the piano bar performer...:eek::eek::eek:

I've heard good reviews of him. In fact there was a group that loved him so much they wrote to John Heald's Blog to find out his schedule:

Don't know, that's why there is no more information, that's what happens when the scheduled entertainer leaves unexpectedly. I have a couple of emails out looking for clarification. Hoping to hear back by early next week. As soon as I know, you'll know. Unless someone else can chime in sooner.

I have to say Wally B...He was on the Victory in Febuary when we went and we became friends with him. He is on Conquest right now and we will be there at the end of the the month.

How long has Brad Alexander been on the Liberty? I think he was supposed to be our piano bar singer when we sailed back in 2007. For some reason the piano bar was closed all week, so we never got to see him. Whoever we had on the Legend back in '06 was awesome! For the life of me I can't remember his name... :confused:

 

Edit: Checked WAY back, apparently I posted on this thread in '06. We had someone named Brady. He's not on the list anymore. Oh well. I still think Brad was on the Liberty in '07. Is he any good?

 

 

I'm sorry you missed him, I absolutely adored Brad, he is funny and talented. Unfortunately, he will not be on the Liberty again on my upcoming cruise *sob* :(

 

 

 

I had a blast with Brad Alexander on my Carnival Liberty trip October of 2007. I missed most of the shows on the ship because I spent most of my evening in the piano bar singing along with him and some other regulars. He's smart and sassy and sweet, and after midnight, a bit saucy a well :p Very talented and entertaining!

I've heard other places that Jim was a bit of a snooze. The problem with the European runs is that it is usually very port intensive, generally an older crowd, lower tipping. It takes a really special entertainer to work with those circumstances and make that piano bar work.

The Freedom gets a new Piano Man this weekend: Marty Gast. Don't know much about him since he's new to the Carnival schedule. However he is not new to the cruise line world.

LOL! Deb, I am generally the same way. I love all types of piano bars and piano bar entertainers. I would have said the same thing...

 

But I finally met a bad piano entertainer on my Fantasy cruise in February 2009. He was deadly. Played slow song after slow song and had very little interaction with the people, even though we tried really hard. When he took a break, he let a young guy who had aspirations of being a piano man play a few songs. The kid was great and pulled passerbys into the bar. As soon as the regular guy came back from break, he killed the energy again and all those people left.

 

If you can't keep me in the piano bar for at least a good portion of the night, you've got to be pretty damn bad!

 

Do report back on Marty. From the looks of the demo, it looks like he could be a lot of fun.
