Summary of Winning Bids on Priceline, Hotwire, etc.

May have used LMT for the first and last time. I had read about foreign transaction fees being applied to charges made to them and sure enough it happened to me. Even though this appears to be something they are quite aware of they will not remove the charge without a copy of my credit card statement. Not happening. Did a copy and paste and received an email back stating they wanted a copy of my statement. I don't think this is something a customer should have to go through. So while I got a great price their customer relations/service gets a big fat zero. Looks like it is back to PL and Hotwire for me.

When you bid on Priceline, I don't see an option where you get to choose hotels to bid on... just #stars and location. Is this correct?

That is correct. You don't know for certain what hotel you're getting until you've paid for it. But you can have a very good idea, or at least narrow the possibilities, by researching this thread and betterbidding.

Is that the Marriott Stellaris? If so, it's awesome!! We stayed pre cruise last April. One night only, but we landed late. Showed up after midnight to a great salsa band, dancing, and drinks!! It is a beautiful place with a great pool and right on the beach!! Starbucks across the street if you like overrated and even more overpriced coffee :)

CVS 1/2 block away for toiletries. Only about 10 minutes to the port. Enjoy!!

We need 1 night pre-cruise and also one night post cruise but we are a family or 3 (Dec 22nd and Dec 30th).

I was thinking of trying Priceline (area 8, resort) but I am not sure that the resorts/hotels will accommodate 3 in their room.

I have also checked Hotwire for Dec 22nd, and it is showing a 4* with these amenities (casino, smoke free room, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, high speed internet, golf nearby and spa services).

Does anyone know which hotel is it?

Should I just try Priceline and then call the resort to see if we could get 2 beds?

Thanks

From the Betterbidding website looks like it could be this:

4* Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel and Casino (previously 3.5*)

Amenities: Restaurant, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Golf

OR

Amenities: Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Hi-Speed Internet

OR

Amenities: Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Golf, Spa

OR

Amenities: Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Spa

Thanks,

How about the resorts on Priceline?

Do you think they will accommodate 3 people?

Pretty sure after you win you can call the hotel and request beds...2 full in the case of 3 people. With Priceline you also need to specify how many people will be in the room I think.

Sorry to ask again, but I wanted to be sure before bidding on Priceline.

I saw the betterbidding Priceline hotels list on their website. There is a fee for the resorts(Marriott, Intercontinental, Conrad, etc).

Is there only one 4* hotel in San Juan on Priceline? the Concha?

So does it means that if it is the hotel that I want, I should check area8 and 4* and keep bidding until I get it?

Does this hotel also charge a resort fee?

Thanks

Both the Marriott and Intercontinental I know charge a resort fee per day. Not sure about the others. From what I can tell, the only 4* they are showing is La Concha. Not sure how to advise you to bid on it.
