I just got the Radisson Ambassador for next April 5-7 on Hotwire for $84 a night . Have stayed in that area before . love that area . Lots to do great places to eat. Great beach. Hotel looks fine for that price. Was up to $125 on 4 star and no luck on Priceline so this was a sure thing. Knew what I was getting had it pegged by going to betterbidding.

Was the Hotwire Hotel 3 star@84/night.

thanks for any help.

staying April 10-14

  • 2 weeks later...

I was getting ready to bid ZONE 8 RESORT for San Juan. It appears that zone 8 does NOT include Marriot Stelaris, Conrad etc,

it's now Zone 9 that includes those resorts.

Can someone please check this out, I don't use priceline much and dont wat to give out bad information or bid on the wrong zone.

I'm trying to win (hopes not high) the Marriot Stelaris beginning of January

I want to try a priceline bid for a one night precruise stay for a family of 4, but not sure which area I should bid on. We want to be near the beach, but is that too far from the airport. We plan on exploring Old San Juan after we board ship. And not sure about transportation from airport to hotel and then from hotel to port...I guess taxis...but how expensive is that?Thank you for any ideas.

Check out bidding traveler dot com. They can actually set up a bidding strategy for you on Priceline, and many report luck by following the strategy exactly.

Zone 9 is the area from the airport to cruise terminals. Use the map on the bid for travel section of the PL website for hotel information (green button - Bid Now).

You pretty much need to take taxis everywhere unless you want to rent a car or try the bus. The taxis are pretty reasonable and fair. We have stayed at the Marriott Stellaris and Intercontinental, both are on the beach. Better bidding.com will give you some tips to help you bid.

That's a really great price. I have been trying for April, but think it's a bit too early.

I've been trying for April too and it has been impossible. I think it is just too early, but I did notice the price of some oof the resorts has gone down by $50.00 from just a few weeks ago......so hopefully october of November should be good......

Got Radisson Ambassador Thursday night for 4/23/13 Overbid though -forgot it was a Tuesday and not a Friday that I needed (had $5 Priceline money to use by midnight & my dogs were bugging me to get off the computer) I bid $100 (so=$105 w/PL cash) Zone 9 3.5*. But still not a bad deal...regular price for that night is $199.

You still got a real nice deal.....I have found prices to be much more expensive this year. I go same time every year and this year has been very hard....I usually have it booked by now.... I am looking for 4/25/13-4/27/13

I've found $105 to usually be the magic number...have gotten Stellaris & La Concha the last 2 Aprils (for late in the month)-was suprised to get Radisson this time...but still ok:)

I've gone up to $121...... no luck yet. I usually get Marriot Stellris or Intercontinental...... Most of the time 100....most ever was 115. So the waiting begins.........

Tell me is san Juan Sheraton and mar riot **** or *** and half stars

There are two Sheratons - one in OSJ near the port, the other the Sheraton with the Casino (4 stars) only $130 per night right now without bidding. The Marriott is listed in the "resort" category.

There are no guarantees what hotel you may end up with, just the level

The "bidding for travel" or "bidding traveler" sites may be helpful.

Good luck!

Both Sheratons have casinos. The one in Old San Juan is called Sheraton Old San Juan and it near the Carnival pier. It is a 3.5* hotel. The other Sheraton is called Sheraton Puerto Rico. It is the hotel closest to the pier used by Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Princess, although it's not walkable. It has a convention center. I've read that it is 4*. Marriott Stellaris is resort category. There are other Marriotts, such as the Courtyard hotel. Which Marriott interested you?

The "other" Sheraton is the Sheraton Puerto Rico Convention Center Hotel &Casino, near the Panam Pier.

The "Stellaris" is a Marriott Resort. The Marriott San Juan Resort and Stellaris Casino.

It was the Sheraton Convention Center that I saw awhile back and now for the life of me, I can't find it. My apologies for the confusion. :o
