Summary of Winning Bids on Priceline, Hotwire, etc.

You can get the Caribe Hilton on Priceline -all January dates it seems - for about $120/night.

Hotwire gives you all of San Juan regardless of the ZIP Code and if you use Hotwire for most of the January dates you'll get 3.5* Verdanza at around $113 and a 4* listed for about $150 which might be the InterContinental or possibly the El San Juan next door. Ignore the Condo, it's likely the ESJ Condos.

The main advantage of using ZIP Codes is in Hotels.com which does sort them by distance from the middle of that particular Code.

Just received the San Juan Water and Beach Club for $115 for Feb10th. I've been trying for a few days. Started at $100 with zone 9 for resorts and 4* and went up to $110. Today I started at 105 resorts in zone 9 added 4* for 110 then added zone 1 for 115 and finally was accepted. I haven't heard much about this hotel. Reviews on trip advisor look good. We are staying post cruise and have a 6:45 am flight so being close to the airport will be nice. I was hoping for Old San Juan area but we will still visit that area.

Did you get this on Priceline? I know you said you bid and all, just wanted to be sure. I'm looking for 11/10 but don't want to end up at Rio only because we are doing the bio bay that night and El Con is right next door. Rio would be fine for the next night.

I am kicking myself because it came up on Hotwire 2 weeks ago as one of those "if you want to know the place" options for $106. Ever since the option has been the 5* for $250 plus. I was in a hurry and figured I would try it the next day and nope, deal has not appeared since then.

Maybe I will go for it anyway.

Just won Conrad San Juan, Condado Plaza on Priceline for $100 night for two nights Dec 22-24, 2012. Total: $231.52 with taxes.

Bid on resort, zone 9 for $100 and was accepted on my first bid. Surprised me that it was accepted because it seemed like a lot of places were booked up for those dates.

On Thursday I purchased an Express Deal on Priceline and ended up with Gran Melia in Rio Grande for $93/night for two nights, May 24-May 26. We wanted to stay near El Yunque and Luquillo or the ferry to Culebra. Of course I kinda figured this deal was for Gran Melia after watching the winning bids in that area. Gran Melia has some absolutely horrible reviews on Trip Advisor so I'm hoping I didnt make a huge mistake...

First time posting in the forum. Been reading up on all the bids and I am flying by the seat of my pants here booking so late for my post-cruise hotel. Not usually this late in planning but here's my bid from this morning.

Nov 17 one night

4 stars

zone 8 & 9

won for $95

Gran Melia Golf Resort

Super excited. I know this is a bit farther away but after being on a cruise with people, this may be the getaway I need.

Thanks again to everyone who posts their bids and info. It really does help out a lot! I looked at biddingtraveler.com for info.

I won Caribe Hilton for 4 rooms 3 nights 12/23 - 12/26 for $125 a room, then our airfare purchase required another night stay so we need one more night... was hoping Caribe could accomodate but they must be full. I went on the bid site again and won the Conrad condado plaza for 12/26 - 12/27 for $95 a night for the 4 rooms.... I hope it is nice. I have stayed at Caribe Hilton so I know how nice it is. Anybody have any opinions of the Conrad??

I stayed at the Conrad last December for 2 nights, had a great time. There are some negative reviews but I didn't have any complaints. There is a casino, 3 pools, small beach and its it close to many restaurants (plus several on site).

I have been trying to bid for Jan 4 - seems prices have gone up! Up to $110 for resort. My flight i booked back in May was canceled so my dates have changed, glad I didn't book earlier.

Finally was accepted! $101 for The Conrad Jan 4 - $120 with tax. I was hoping for somewhere difference for a change of scenery but I was happy with my stay last year

I have been trying this past week (started with $90 3 star and then resort)and it was asking me to re-bid $110 for a 3 star.

We stayed at the Water Club a couple of years ago post-post cruise (we had a blizzard hit home the night before we were supposed to leave PR and used Hotwire to book "emergency" lodgings). The rooms are on the small size, but comfortable. The staff was very nice. The pool area wasn't terribly interesting but there's a lovely beach across a very small street.

Really want to do this right - why is LaConcha a zone 9 when on the map it would be a 10? do I include 10 and add 9? Obviously a first time priceliner - any help would be great. We've stayed there before and would like it again.

San Juan

zone 9 and Aguadilla?

4*

thanks

I'm wondering the same thing? It seems like the 4 star that you would get on priceline deal would be the Sheraton Casino one (not the one in Old San Juan). I wish someone would update on how to get the best deal/hotel using priceline or hotwire. Hotwire actually has a new guarantee on some hotels where if you get the name and you don't like it, you have 24 hours to cancel. They currently have a 4star for $137 for July 5th, one night. I was thinking of booking, but when you add the fees (outrageous) the total comes to $182, PLUS it says the resort charges a fee of 16%. This would end up being well over $200.

I just need a hotel for one night pre-cruise. Our flight doesn't arrive until almost 8pm at night, then we leave early the next morning for the cruise. $200 seems a little extreme for that small amount of time. I would LOVE suggestions on which hotel to choose for a simple overnight stay.

Bid on Priceline 4 star, zone 10 $105 for 2 nights 4/25-4-26. I did not want resort but guess what I got? Conrad San Juan $210 plus taxes of $32.78. I will also have to pay resort fees when I get there. I really wanted something else but thats priceline.

I am not real familar with the area and would like to try priceline. I am wondering about the zone locations. We would like to get as close to the Carnival Port as possible. But I dont' know what zone to choose. I would guess zone 10 but not sure. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
