Average Age??

What is the average age group on Princess Cruise Line? DH and I have been looking at different alternatives for cruises.

It depends on the time of year you do and the itinerary.

 

Overall, it is mid to late 40's, but if you go during spring or summer breaks, you'll get a younger crowd and if you go from Sept - Dec., it is older.

 

And European itineraries tend to have older ages on average.

I think that that is a very general question and any answer you get will be very generalized....it really depends on the cruise length, itinerary, time of year and ship. If you were more specifac, I think you will get a more accurate answer.

We were looking into a 7 day Eastern or Western Caribbean this Oct or Nov.

You will likely have an older crowd - fourty, fifty and retirees- any cruises we've taken in Oct. and Nov. were older crowds. In fact, that is when we always take cruise vacations because we don't want to be on the ship with teenagers.

 

We did Hawaii on NCL in October and I saw more people in wheelchairs, walkers and canes than any other cruise I ever went on - which was okay, because I was using a cane myself after surgery.

Then Oct and Nov. is a perfect time. We are in our fifties and after a summer cruise on a ship that had nothing for teens to do, we refuse to cruise in the summer.

 

October and November are our perfect months for a quiet cruise.

I am in my mid-30's and have been cruising Princess since my late 20's. I have never felt out of place or felt like I was the youngest person. Princess seems to get people from all ages and no one really stands out. The cruise won't be as loud as Carnival or RCCL but I have always found it a classy experience.

Expect to see an older crowd when school is in session. The crowds get younger when school is out as more families and college kids go then.

My rough-and-dirty on this...

 

Caribbean Princess - about 40

Smaller ships, longer itineraries - about 55

Larger ships, shorter itineraries - about 45

I went on Island Princess in early August

 

Lots of people between 45-65

 

I'm 22, so yea, it was a bit different than other cruises I've been on

I'd say the average was in the 40's. Hardly saw a wrinkly!

 

If you want to go on a floating nursing home then it's definitely a P&O cruise out of Southampton up to the Baltics of Fjiords.
