You know, I might have been on cruises with celebrities, but I'm just terrible at spotting them, since I don't expect to see them, I guess. But I always see ~insert your least favorite fellow-cruiser, here~, no matter where I go, on the ship or off.:p

He wasn't on our cruise, and WE didn't actually get to see him - but when we left Cabo San Lucas we heard quite a few people talking about seeing Adam Sandler at Lover's Beach.

The cruise we are going on (this Thursday!!!) we discovered is a San Diego Chargers "fan" cruise or something of the sort. There might be players, coaches, etc. on the cruise. My dh thinks that is pretty cool (I'm not too into football, so I won't know anyone).

I never have seen a celebrity on a cruise, but my husband won a "Hero's" Award and we were given a trip to NYC via stretch limo, stayed at the Waldorf Astoria and at the banquet reception we sat there mesmerized by the guests who walked in; Marlo Thomas, Phil Donahue, Lynn Swan, Katherine Helmond (Who's the Boss), Steven Segal, Hank Aaron, former congresswoman Pat Schroeder and Kirstie Ally chatted amongst us. Goint to the banquet on the elevator, we shared a ride with Miss America and her chaperone. The next day, we went to Tavern on the Green for dinner and I couldn't eat because it overlooked Central Park and I watched a homeless person digging through a garbage can. Lost my appetite!

Ou our RCCI Rhapsody cruise last year, Micky Dolenz of Monkees fame was aboard. He performed two shows and was out and about the ship...got to meet him and shake his hand....Met John Wayne in San Antonio many years ago....Also met ex House Speaker Jim Wright several years ago at a banquet...Those are my major brushes with fame....

My DW and I were on a Mexican Baja cruise on the Carnival Pride. WE went to one of the shows one night and the entertainment was a Mowtown singer and a magician. We watched the mowtown guy sing like 8 songs and when he was done, the cruise director came on stage and said," Grab your cameras because we have a special guest sailing with us, Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Stevie Wonder!" At first we thought he was kidding. But no, It was Stevie Wonder. He sang one song but it was just cool. Basically our only celeb experience.

Marty Allen, who was the entertainment one night of our cruise, was in the cabin next to ours. We ran into him several times in the hallway. He's a funny looking guy, but he was always very nice, and he and his wife put on a great show.

This is bad because I can't even remember the year or the ship, but once we saw Drew Bledsoe (former QB for NE Patriots) on our cruise. I even stood right behind him as we disembarked a tender! He is quite tall... probably around 6'6".

I have seen Drew on many occations...he is from my town! :D (along with Dan Doornink of Seattle Seahawk fame!)

We have yet to meet or see any celebs on a cruise, but my cousin and her family sailed a few years back with Donny Osmond and family. They said they stayed in their cabin a lot, but he did venture out one day and asked my cousin's group if any of them knew how to whistle with their fingers...my cousin knew how and was immediately invited to his suite to teach one of his boys how to whistle with his fingers:D . She said Donny and his family were exceptionally nice ( I can attest to this myself, as I have met him personally).

I was on the Celebrity Mercury to Alaska several years ago, and Rosie O'Donnell and her crew were on board. I never actually saw her, but it was the talk of the ship. 20 years ago in San Diego I ran into Cesar Romero (he played The Joker on the old "Batman" series in the 60's) in an elevator in the hotel I was staying at.

And since I live in Nashville, I run into country music stars quite frequently. I've seen Alan Jackson at the Cracker Barrel, and I once saw Johnny Cash at a bookstore.

Flavor Flav was on the same cruise with us on VOS Mexican Riviera during Easter break 2006. He was on vacation and was really cool - took time to talk to the kids/teenagers and posed for pictures. The kids really enjoyed seeing him.

We saw Judge Wopner, formerly on "People's Court" on a Crystal cruise once. No one seemed to make any particular fuss. He looked like he was having a nice time.

Was that the Grand Princess in Feb 02? We were on the cruise too and sat next to Drew and his family for breakfast. My husband is a huge Bills fan and Drew had just been traded to them so he was thrilled. He took pictures with my husband and he and his wife were very nice and gracious.

When we went on Disney Magic, Joe Namath was a guest and also gave a talk to the passengers. My husband met him and said he was very nice. On the day of our excursion to Castaway Cay, as my son and I were in line waiting to board, there was a man standing THISCLOSE to me with a straw hat on. He was just a little too much into my "personal space". I was getting ready to either say something or get out of line when he turned and I saw it was him. I just got a dopey smile:rolleyes: on my face, said hello and kept moving.

Actually it was post-cruise. We were staying at the Alaskan Millenium hotel in Anchorage and ran into Ben Stein.

My DW was sooo cool... She asks, "Hey are you him?" to which he responded, "Yes". We still laugh about that...

Back in December we were on the Brilliance of the Seas for a 12 day Caribbean Holiday Cruise and Howie Mandel and his family were on board. For the first 3 days he wore a baseball cap and glasses everywhere - which really brought attention to him inside the ship! After people were used to seeing him, he stopped covering up. He always had his family and friends around him - his parents and wife and daughter among others. He always wore black jeans and black t-shirts and sneakers, even on formal night! (We ate near him.) People were very nice and didn't really bother him, after all, he was on vacation like the rest of us! On the last night I was standing near him waiting for the dining room to open and I took his picture from behind because I didn't want to bother him. I have a great picture of his bald head!!:D

The closest I got to a celebrity was Demi Moore's personal trainer on Carnival's Celebration in 1997. I didn't even know of his connection to Demi Moore until he told me himself. He used to tell us stories of her especially when she was filming her GI Joe movie.

We were waiting to board RCCL Monarch in San Pedro, Calif. a few years back and Geraldo Rivera was there dressed in a nice suit. Several people approached him with their cell phones (with cameras) and he happily posed for pictures. He did not sail with us however, he just went on board for a wedding and then disembarked. I didn't know they did that.
