I'm anxious to hear how disembarkation and embarkation went today for the Crown.

CJS, if you are at the airport...must have went ok. Too bad about the canceled flight.

Hope you had a great time!

We had Red 1 and were the first ones off the ship this morning as we were to have been on an 11:30 am flight. We were supposed to be called off at 7:45 am but it started at 8:15. Getting your bags were tough as all the reds were all mixed together.

We had to register our flights prior to Wed and they made a copy of our plane tickets. Last night there were people screaming to get off early though they didn't have an early flight, it was crazy.

More tomorrow.

On the August 25th Crown cruise, the glass panels on deck 16 were shattered. One was already shattered when we got on, and a few days later the second panel shattered.

The aft elevators worked then, but there were troubles with the midship elevators.

It's a shame on a new ship, Princess cannot get it right!

Just a quick update: I just spoke to Patricia and she said Avis is doing well. They took a couple of walks around the nurses station with only the help of a cane. They are both amazing people. Things are turning a good corner. I know all the thoughts and prayes helped Barb

There are still shattered glass panes up there. They fixed the 2 aft elevators and they only worked for a few hours on one day the whole trip. They did fix the midship elevator and it was only out for a few hours.

We had a 1:55 flight and were off the ship by 9:15. And we also had a hard time finding luggage - you are right, they did it only by color, not by the number, which was a mess. Someone needs to develop something to put on your luggage like a car alarm - push a button on the piece you keep that makes your bag chirp so you can find it easier!

Quick update on Avis.........we are still here at Johns Hopkins, he will be having a second surgery tomorrow (Tuesday) to repair the skin graft area from last years surgery. No one seems to know what happened, but my feeling is that someone put tape across the skin graft on his head and when the original dressing was removed last Friday morning ouch ouch some of his skin graft was removed and it looked horrible, so plastic surgeon residents were called in Friday and his surgeon from last March and April was notified and then there was the beginning talk of future skin graft to repair. Then there was discussion Sat. morning that he would be discharged Sat. afternoon and then they said he would just stay here and surgery would be Monday if they could work him on the OR schedule and now he is supposed to go on Tuesday. So far his plastic surgeon has not come in unless he comes while I am here in the library, but I know he is not going to be a happy camper as someone messed up his lovely work of art. We cautioned everyone along the way to please be careful and watchful of his skin graft and even the neurosurgeon made his incision far enough away. His spirits are good and he is taking this better than me, but what can we do. He is walking some in the hall with use of a cane, he won't be needing the walker, and PT and occupational therapy have come again today. We're hoping to be outta here on Wednesday if all goes well.
We both thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your e-mails, phone calls, prayers, thoughts and concerns. Big hugs. Patricia

Beej here with an Avis update. The surgery for the skin graft is finally done and over. Patricia went in to see Avis and he is doing well except for a sore head. Looks like going home will be Sunday.

This is a good start to Thanksgiving, and a happy one to all. Barb
