Snoozeman Posted February 1, 2007 #101 Share Posted February 1, 2007 even though you don't know me!I was in 7375 on a sister ship and was very unhappy when I was woken up every night by the cleaning crew who came to get their vacuums out of the storage room.... right across the hall from us! It continued all week and the purser tried to stop it but with no luck. There is also a storage room for the room stewards along there and it is very noisy in the mornings when they are getting set up for the day. Hope that answers your question. Yes, so true. Many times the stewards will make more noise than if you were across from pax cabins. Especially early in the morning.
katgilm Posted February 1, 2007 #102 Share Posted February 1, 2007 Try L.J. Cormier of Texas Cruise Ships Shuttle. He is charging us $125 to transport us from Hobby to the pier. He has a large passenger van. There are 6 of us. If there are only a few of you, you could take a taxi which I think runs around $100 from Hobby Airport. The Bush airport is farther away so I am not sure of the cost from that airport. You can find Texas Cruise Ship shuttle by just doing an internet search. His e-mail address is info@cruiseshipshuttle.com. I had read about him on another board. He gets rave reviews.
Tahoe5 Posted February 1, 2007 #103 Share Posted February 1, 2007 Just wondering if it became quiet after midnight and stayed quiet through the night. Was there any noise from below early in the morning? Thanks for the heads-up! Once the show let out all was quiet. Left the Balcony door open to let the noise of the waves put us to sleep. sandsand Posted February 1, 2007 #104 Share Posted February 1, 2007 What about cabin 6435? It's above the boulevard (across from Henri's) on the promenade deck. Any experiences with cabin noise from that area?

Texas_firefighter Posted February 2, 2007 #106 Share Posted February 2, 2007 Thanks for this thread!!! :) It has already answered alot of my questions. We are booked on the Conquest in Sept. and I'm already doing research for our excursions:D We would like to use Capt. Marvins in GC for the Stingray City tour and see Hell and the Turtle Farm. I know, it will be a busy day. What time do they start tendering in the morning?? And will we have a hard time getting on a tender early in the morning since our tour will not be booked throught the ship?? Do we have to get tender tickets?? If so, where and when can we get them?? I'm sure I will have more questions so, thanks again for all the help. Tendering will start soon after 7:00 a.m.The ship will start to give tender tickets to those not scheduled for a Carnival excursion at 7:00 a.m. in the main theatre on on a first come first served basis. We booked with Captain Marvin's and had a 9:15 meeting time for their 10:00 trip and got to the pier before 8:00 and shopped for an hour. You'll be fine .We were worried too.:) We found this all out from the purser on board. You'll love Captain Marvin's.Have fun !
postalgrrl Posted February 2, 2007 #107 Share Posted February 2, 2007 Texasfirefighter, Thanks for the info. Now I think we have decided to skip Hell & the Turtle farm and just do the 10:00 with Capt.Marvin. How was it?? We love to snorkel. And what time did you go get your tender tickets in the showroom? Was there a long line for the tickets??

If the modify option doesn't work, here is another method. (It's a bit detailed, but it will work) 1. On the Carnival homepage click 'My Reservation' located on the top of the page. 2. Use the 'Member log-in' to the right of the page to log-in to your account. This will take you to your reservation. 3. On the 'My Reservation' page first write down your booking number then click on the 'FunPass - Complete Online' located to the right of the Itinerary (This will take you to the FunPass check in area) Note: Sometimes you will get an error message and you will need to go back to the My Reservation page and click the 'FunPass-Complete Online' a second time. Then it will work. 4. On the 'FunPass Quick Check in' page you may be required to provide your booking number. You should have it from the My Reservation page. 5. You should now see a list of guests traveling and be able to complete a FunPass for each person. 6. Under the list of guests you will see 4 options Book Shore Excursions Now---------Order Gifts & Services Carnival Sea Miles MasterCard-----Join Presidential Wine Club 7. Click on 'Order Gifts and Services' 8. Select 'Details' of any gift. At the bottom of the page will be your booking number and stateroom number. Your room number will show up as GUAR until it has been assigned. Now I think we have decided to skip Hell & the Turtle farm and just do the 10:00 with Capt.Marvin. How was it?? We love to snorkel. And what time did you go get your tender tickets in the showroom? Was there a long line for the tickets?? It was great ! We went on a brand new boat and the guides were really helpful to everyone. They really put us into some good spots. We went down to get our tickets just a few minutes after 7:00 and walked right up to the stage and got them.No line for us.We were among the first first set of numbers called. They blend you in with those with a Carnival sponsored excursion. Have fun !:D To get to Captain Marvin's , walk across the street from the terminal @ Cayman and walk a few blocks to the left to their office. It has a blue roof. MrSnarkyPants Posted February 2, 2007 #124 Share Posted February 2, 2007 1. We are flying into Houston and taking a Limo company to the Port. It is $210 round trip (2 adults and 2 children) from Bush Airport to the Port. Does this sound right? Sounds about right. Intercontinental (I refuse to call it Bush) is on the opposite side of the planet from Galveston. You're looking at a 70 mile trip. Hobby Airport is closer (served by Southwest, JetBlue, AirTran, Delta, and American) but it's still going to be a 40 mile trip down I-45.
JustRambling Posted February 3, 2007 #125 Share Posted February 3, 2007 This is our first time on a cruise and on the Conquest! It is $210 round trip (2 adults and 2 children) from Bush Airport to the Port. Does this sound right? cruiser407 - Can I ask you what limo company you are talking about? I'm currently looking at various ways to get from the airport to our hotel in Galveston and then from the port to the airport. Thanks!
