serene56 Posted April 11, 2010 #1751 Share Posted April 11, 2010 Thanks for the info. We only booked this cabin for the VIP check-in. On another board we heard a lot about the cabannas on HMC and wanted to get in line early. LOL Probably could have done this with regular balcony but now no stress. DH and I are going for our 20th anniversy and decided spend a little and enjoy ourselfs. cant you book the cabana online when it gets closer to your sailing? NCTribeFan Posted April 14, 2010 #1752 Share Posted April 14, 2010 You cannot reserve the HMC cabins through Carnival until you board. You can on HAL. I'm not sure why Carnival doesn't do this. I can't justify the price (since it's usually just me and DD, but now I'm sailing solo). I'm heading back to HMC in about 5 weeks! I rent a clamshell, and since I'll be solo, I'll be able to use one chair to prop up the back to get some airflow. Anyway... I've been under dining rooms on both Glory and, uh, a Fantasy-class ship (can't remember which one). Absolutely no noise. Been under the shops, too. No noise from there, either. Where you don't want to be is under the galley!
serene56 Posted April 14, 2010 #1753 Share Posted April 14, 2010 Since I am doing a group- (I think we are going to HMC) I wonder if it would be a good thing to see if the group would like to go in using that cabana--although at a 100. a pop I know I would not do it- :D

bama_chic Posted April 19, 2010 #1755 Share Posted April 19, 2010 DH and I are taking our first cruise 5/20/10 on Carnival Fascination, room M250. It is an 8A balcony room. Any info on this cabin or one in this area. I know that it's on the main deck and being so low and in the back that we will hear engine noises and feel vibration, but is it really so bad that it is intolerable? What are these balconies like (covered or not)? Also, what is cruising in May like (kids galore or what)? I'm full of questions. lol. Thanks in advance for any info, advice or tips. We sailed on the Sensation in M247 (inside cabin) sister to the Facination. We had a lot of shuddering/vibration when entering or leaving a port- not a big deal for us. Some people report that the noise of the wake is very loud- Myself, I find it very relaxing-(i also sleep with a fan all year round) Never had the experience of a balcony on this class of ship- would love to see pictures of one. (i can only imagine how narrow they are) I suggest getting yourself to the main carnival board and start reading
bama_chic Posted April 19, 2010 #1757 Share Posted April 19, 2010 thx. I've been there too and had no luck with anyone that had stayed in any of them. All I could get was the noise and vibration, but I also sleep with a fan year round because I live near a highway and have to block out some of the cars and loud music. But I'm a firm believer in ear plugs, no matter where I go.
Last Mango Posted April 21, 2010 #1758 Share Posted April 21, 2010 Thank you Serene, I appreciate you answering my question. Thankyou for the advice to get the machines turned down. I guess I won't be worried so much now. Caro....can you let us know what the noise level was like?

Traveller20074 Posted April 28, 2010 #1766 Share Posted April 28, 2010 (edited) Rooms Not To Book - NORWEIGAN PEARL: 11524, Penthouse AB - Directly under the free weights and weight machine in the gym. Absolutely disturbing - and until NCL decides to curb the gym's 24 hour operation, they will definitely get more complaints. We also had mini suite 11526 for our daughters, which also heard the noise, but not quite as loud as the master bedroom. Our friends were in 11522 and 11520 and they were also disrupted (these are mini suites). It took NCL Pearl staff 4 days to close the gym at 10pm. Ridiculous.:eek::eek::eek: That's our room :eek: Hopefully, they will be closing at 10 on OUR cruise. Wow. SIENA6334 Posted April 28, 2010 #1767 Share Posted April 28, 2010 It won't be too noisy so close to the elevators will it. That was my main concern. One of the ladies traveling with us is 74 and being close to the elevators is a great help for her. Just a bit concerned re noise. Thank you. serene56 Posted May 5, 2010 #1772 Share Posted May 5, 2010 We are booked for room #1244 towards the front of the Carnival Conquest on the Riviera Deck. Any feedback? Man, I wish I'd have found these boards before booking! You can change your cabin at any time-- as long as their is availabity. 1244 is too forward for me- long walks to get to the food/pools every day= sometimes twice a day. (I like the orange rooms towards the aft (back) of the ship- closer to stuff. Riveria deck is a good deck= low and midship is where you want to be. another thing i dont like about your cabin== its in the middle of cabins that hold 4 people each-- (I dont know when you are sailing) but if its during a time that kids sail-- it could hold 4 kids. (yikes) but see that a lot of the cabins that hold 2 people are the same way. Check prices- look for free upgrades- avoid any of those cabins under the galley- Dining room is fine since it is carpeted so no noise

Can't afford a suite, so just reg balconies for us. Was thinking upper deck, but paranoid because of the noise, so maybe empress deck? any help would be spectacular.............
