dpomes Posted February 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2007 I tried posting this poll on the Ports of Call board and got absolutely no help, so I am trying here. If you had to pick one, which would you choose? We are not that interested in snorkeling. We would like a nice beach, chairs, restrooms and shade. Cruisin' Ron VA Posted February 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2007 I tried posting this poll on the Ports of Call board and got absolutely no help, so I am trying here. If you had to pick one, which would you choose? We are not that interested in snorkeling. We would like a nice beach, chairs, restrooms and shade. Hands down The Hyatt. They have a gorgeous beach, bar, resturant with outdoor seating, a very nice swimming pool (within a stones throw of the beach) so why do that? You can get a massage on the beach, they have hammocks. I could go on and on but see for yourself. Go to the Hyatt website and look at the property on Grand Cayman. They have lots of info and pictures. ENJOY YOURSELF! goneclear Posted February 28, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 28, 2007 We walked around town then took a taxi to 7 mile beach. Got out right next to the Marriott. There is a nice beach bar there with chairs umbrellas etc. Best conch fritters I have ever had were there. I think the taxi cost $
cb at sea Posted February 28, 2007 #5 Share Posted February 28, 2007 All of the public access point to the beach rent chairs, umbrellas, etc. They also have restaurant/bars open to the public and watersport equip. for rent. Any of the beaches are an easy taxi/bus ride. No need to purchase a "formal excursion"!
elleluv Posted February 28, 2007 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2007 You don't have a "none of the above" option on your poll... ;) I agree... for what you are looking for, I would just take a taxi to 7 mile beach. Have a great time! :)
WI-Cruiser Posted February 28, 2007 #7 Share Posted February 28, 2007 Nice beach, convenient and right price.

Have a great time! :) Aren't the first three in your list considered 7 mile beach? We just returned and got sucked into going to the Royal Palms "Resort." I DO NOT recommend this area of the beach! See my review: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=9318218&posted=1#post9318218

Daycare Provider Posted March 7, 2007 #10 Share Posted March 7, 2007 Rum Point is drop dead gorgouse. The powder white sand, swaying palm trees, water crystal clear and shallow. You can see the fish swim past your feet. The public facilities are wonderful, there is a bar that sells beach style food.
massfriends Posted March 7, 2007 #11 Share Posted March 7, 2007 Just take the local bus to 7 mile beach. Everything you'll need is there.
ccletzgo Posted March 7, 2007 #12 Share Posted March 7, 2007 if you are on a ship the size of the navigator, stay on board. I have a bad taste in my mouth after today's tender. The freedom, and the navigator were in G.C. today and it left my wonderfull day in grand caymen with a "i wont do this again" memory. G.C. should be saved for the smaller ships.........(in my opinion)
ChristieNJ Posted March 7, 2007 #13 Share Posted March 7, 2007 A few months ago we took a taxi to Royal Palms, Reef Grill. There is not much there to look at, the beach was really no big deal. I would pass up that area of the beach. Not many palms to look at, and the water was nice & all but from what I hear about other places, there are much nicer areas to see. Here's a link to the two webcams there: http://www.reefgrill.com/netcam/index.html Basically what you see is all of what you get in those shots.
