gomomgo Posted March 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2007 We're going on the Grand Princess in less than 3 weeks (!). Since this is our first cruise, we're looking for fun things to do. What are your favorite spots onboard for relaxing, entertainment, getting away from the crowds, dining...?
Colo Cruiser Posted March 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 11, 2007 On the balcony or the Promanade Deck. :)
JoeTx Posted March 11, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 11, 2007 The hottubs by the Oasis Bar turned into our favorite place to be this past week. It was too cold for most of the pools...
paul929207 Posted March 11, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2007 On my balcony as we sail for a port. Paul
Tina G Posted March 11, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 11, 2007 Oooh, goody! A positive thread! I like to sit by the piano in the atrium and do needlework, especially if the pianist is classically trained!:)
stoneharborlady Posted March 11, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 11, 2007 Lovely to sit there with a plate of shrimp and crablegs from the Caribe Cafe and watch the wake and the horizon. Pure Heaven on earth!! Karen

cruiserjanet Posted March 11, 2007 #9 Share Posted March 11, 2007 Like ColoCruiser, on the balcony or the Promenade Deck. The sea is so relaxing to look at. Ah, my happy place. ;)
WarEagle76 Posted March 11, 2007 #10 Share Posted March 11, 2007 Adults only Terrace Pool on the aft deck.
elisamarie Posted March 11, 2007 #11 Share Posted March 11, 2007 I haven't been on the Grand since it was retrofitted with MUTS but on CB this was my favorite place to spend the day and I'm sure it will be the next time I go on Grand. I also LOVED the piano bar on Grand...Roger Carr was there last time and he is terrific. He was on Coral Christmas cruise 2005 also. If he is on your ship, make sure you go see him. elisa
Sox Fan Cruiser Posted March 11, 2007 #12 Share Posted March 11, 2007 Adults only Terrace Pool on the aft deck. WarEagle76, you beat me to it!! No kids! I especially like to sit between the pool and the railing duing sea days watching the wake. It seems like it just you, your significant other and the water. You almost forget that there are 2,600 other people behind you! :D
SeaTeacher Posted March 12, 2007 #13 Share Posted March 12, 2007 My favorite spots are the Terrace Pool at the aft, in the atrium coffee bar, or at the pool under the glass dome. In the evenings, I often enjoy bringing a buffet plate back to the cabin with a little nosh along with a scotch and soda. Hmmmm..
Julia’s Journey’s Posted March 12, 2007 #14 Share Posted March 12, 2007 We enjoy relaxing in skywalkers during the day, great views and easy access to outside also mostly quiet.
Rare sns1 Posted March 12, 2007 #15 Share Posted March 12, 2007 I agree about Skywalkers. It's a great place to sit during the day and read. We usually bring a bottle of champagne, get some OJ and make our own mimosas. It's normally quiet there and the view is outstanding. Gosh, I wish I was on a cruise right now. I have to wait until next February.
barbarah33 Posted March 12, 2007 #16 Share Posted March 12, 2007 The adults only pool with a drink in my hand watching off the stern of the ship at the wake!

bhopal21 Posted March 12, 2007 #18 Share Posted March 12, 2007 The adults only pool with a drink in my hand watching off the stern of the ship at the wake! 3 weeks ago when we were on The Grand there was a mid-thirties couple with two young girls 3-4 years old that were playing all around the deck at that pool while the parents sat in the risers facing the pool totally oblivious to all the "Adults Only" signs. Crown08 Posted March 12, 2007 #19 Share Posted March 12, 2007 Another vote for the aft pool. It's *normally* very quiet and relaxing. Also, Skywalkers during the day if you want to get indoors.
CL-JW Posted March 12, 2007 #20 Share Posted March 12, 2007 We love the Terrace Pool on the aft of the Grand Class. We also like the Promenade Bar (or Crooners depending on which Grand class you are on).
giggster11 Posted March 12, 2007 #21 Share Posted March 12, 2007 Have only been on the Sapphire but being on your own balcony with a drink in hand while leaving port is definitely a favorite place to be. That and late night snacking at the buffet.
envy4u Posted March 12, 2007 #22 Share Posted March 12, 2007 This may sound corny but my favorite place on a ship is wherever the love of my life and I are. ;)
gomomgo Posted March 12, 2007 Author #23 Share Posted March 12, 2007 I'm writing them all down (don't have a balcony, though:( ). It sounds like even with a full ship we'll find some quiet niches to relax and enjoy the ocean. Keep 'em comin' if you want to reminisce. They all sound so soothing and romantic.
