dancingfish Posted June 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2007 Icy strait is the only port we have nothing planned... We leave on Thursday for our cruise (yipee)--- will we find something to do in town? Are there walking tours, muesuems etc??
Tyrkitty Posted June 4, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 4, 2007 There is a beautiful short walk through a natural rain forest. Also if you are adventurous there is a brand new zip line at Icy Straight. Just back and did the zip line in the rain. It was fun, but at 60 mph the rain felt like gravel hitting your face. One of my favorite stops on our trip. Budget Queen Posted June 4, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 4, 2007 It is a wonderful port, take some time to chat with the residents, some will be in costume. :) You will get something upon entering the port- follow the "directions". :) There is a very nice museum, and take the trail all along the beach, nice view of your ship too. :) This loops back though woods. With time, take a walk into Hoonah, the walk is the highlight, not a lot of places to "go" to but the scenery is nice. Consider lunch at the Office Bar, or the Galley. SoccerMom#3 Posted June 5, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 5, 2007 We don't have anything planned in Icy Strait either. Sounds like talking a hike is the thing to do.
